    My problem with strikeouts is they seem to happen so often with a runner at third and less than 2 outs or with a runner on 2nd with nobody out, where we should be putting the bat on the ball in some fashion. Is that not possible with a strikeout team like ours? Don't know if those kinds of stats are out there somewhere to show which high strikeout teams are still capable of doing this.

    My own personal prospect rankings. He can move back up with some good weeks but I thought he would do better than this. The pitchers in this league aren't exactly the best the AFL has ever seen.

    He's pitched a lot of good games in the minors. The issue - velocity. So many of these guys are successful in the minors but the lack of high velocity doesn't lead to major league success. I often wonder if some of these lower velocity guys would actually adjust and be able to pitch in the majors and yet they are never given the chance. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this with Carr.

    Rosario is moving down in the prospect rankings. Yikes!

    After the money/budget situation, the next biggest questions I have are: will the Twins play Lewis in CF, when will Kirilloff recover from his surgery and will Lee be with the Twins in April? All of these questions highly affect whether we are keeping Polanco and Farmer and whether we need a CF (unless the Twins think Martin is ready, which I don't think they do).

    Castro is guaranteed. Alcala is likely for only $1 million. The Twins plans for Lewis (do they want to move him to CF) and the results of Kirilloffs surgery really help decide how much we need Farmer at 3B or 1B. Plus he's our best backup SS (but add Lee as a 3rd decision that affects Farmer - do the Twins plan to start Lee immediately with the Twins and try for that extra #1 draft pick?).

    If you told me that the Twins would give up 3 runs in game #4 before it started, I would say we were going to win facing a pitcher with an ERA around 5.00 for the year. The only reason it appears "to not have worked out" is because we didn't score 4 runs. The hitters have to score 4+ runs in this game and Lopez then would have had to go out and shut down the Astros in game #5.

    Julien. If Kirilloff is out most of next year, I see a free agent signing on a one year contract.

    This is exactly what I want every Twins hitter to do - never make contact with any pitch out of the strike zone because they never swing at them. Stop flailing at pitches that are balls.

    I contend that Jeffers was very good this year Because they rotated catchers. I certainly see why they played Jeffers every inning but I wouldn't have had him starting in the 2nd game when they played on consecutive days.

    When you play great teams/players, some things that improved against mostly weaker teams in the 2nd half of the season return to being a problem. We want less strikeouts by our hitters but many of our new hitters aren't exactly great at this (Lewis, Julien and Wallner) though they aren't any worse at striking out than most players on the team. The players who really strike out less that are actually possibilities of playing are Austin Martin and Jose Miranda. Very interesting off-season to see if trades are made to tackle this strikeout issue.

    False. You can cherry pick one fan or one comment and try to make it seem like everyone is like that. I umpired previously and wanted to make the game fair for each team. I would rather have a robo ump making the right, fair call than me making a mistake. For the Twins, I want a fairly called game.

    Kepler wishes we had the robo ump. Never would have called strike 3 on the ball inches inside when Lewis had 2nd base stolen. Key spot.

    Bring on the robo ump strike/ball calls. In a game of inches and with teams so close, favoring veterans or teams must end. We have the technology now to make the game more fair.

    I thought that originally as well. But on replay, I think the catcher closed off the lane after he caught the ball so I think it was a correct ruling.

    Great postgame comment by Rocco - Lewis is running better. That explains why we tried the Jeffers bunt. Wonder if the Twins play Lewis at 3B on Tuesday..........

    No problem at all against the Astros as they only have RH's in the bullpen.

    I mostly agree but hitting into double plays are actually even worse.

    I disagree. Thielbar has pitched on two consecutive days multiple times this year and certainly can pitch 5 days out of 7. But I also want Funderburk. I can see Ober or Ryan get to a spot where Funderburk comes in for the last out of an inning against a LH. Then, put Maeda in the very next inning as the bridge to the 7th inning. Add Ober to the roster and remove Stephenson (or Paddack if we think the pinch runner/late inning defense is more valuable than adding the 13th pitcher).

    I disagree. If Polanco got a ball to throw to 2B, I'm saying Correa is taking the throw, looking at where each players was positioned to start the play. I was just surprised how fast Correa got to the ball when he wasn't running that great three weeks ago.

    Brooks Lee Could start the year with the Twins and have a chance at 2024 Al Rookie of the Year (Twins would get an extra #1 draft pick).Walker Jenkins Would like to see him start in Cedar Rapids.Emmanuel Rodriguez Very selective like Julien. Needs less SO's.Marco Raya Ended the season with two great starts. Twins are careful with him.David Festa Only Twin in the MiLB All Star game.Austin Martin Great speed, contact hitter, plays numerous positions.Noah Miller Best defensive SS, by far, in MiLB who starting hitter good the last half of the year.Kala'i Rosario MVP of the league in A+.Tanner Schobel Great in A+. Needs to adjust to AA.Luke Keaschall Great start.Danny De Andrade Very young to be in A ball and did okay.Jose Rodriguez Let's see what he can do in A ball.Matt Canterino I've thinking he will come back from injury and still be good.Cory Lewis Great year for him. AA next year.Charlee Soto All potential at this point.Kody Funderburk LH relievers are valuable.Jair Camargo HR hitting catcher at AAA who plays decent D. Simeon Woods Richardson Much improved 2nd half. Still young.Yunior Severino Monster homers if he could just cut down on the almost 40% SO's.Jaylen Nowlin Needs to be more consistent.

    Anyone else surprised the Blue Jays played the infield back with the bases loaded and nobody out in the 4th? If you get Castro (or just an out at home like I think they would have got with the infield in), you have a slower Jeffers to try for the inning ending double play and Taylor following him.
