  1. Tovar for sure. Absolute great player. Tapani is also a good candidate.
  2. Thanks Seth. The mocking of pitch to contact gets old. The philosophy is much better described as get ahead in the count and don’t walk people. I’d say both of those things still apply.
  3. Arreaz has one strength - hitting for average. If that diminishes he will be fighting for the 26th spot on a roster in the future
  4. They should be able to find 5 guys out of all their choices. My biggest concern is they ride the veteran guy even though he is not performing.
  5. I’m afraid that baseball has changed so much that historical comparisons are no longer valid. The juiced ball last year means you can throw all of those stats out the window. Your point is well taken however that the Twins have quite a tandem at the corners
  6. I’ve wanted a right handed hitting back up CF for three years. I think the FO has a bit of a bias towards keeping Cave since they gave up a good prospect for him.
  7. Very interesting article. I wonder if his extreme workout routine is playing into the decrease in velocity. Perhaps he is losing some elasticity in his motion
  8. He could do it but there are a couple of big ifs. First is better command of his pitches and second is having a legit change up
  9. Read my mind. Johan went from good to great once that change up was mastered. Here’s hoping.....
  10. Every year is different. Predicting is a fools errand so people should settle in and watch the games play out
  11. If he can’t stick at SS then he should have been traded. Second baseman are readily available and we have a better player in CF now
  12. I support RBs theory. Get your 13 best pitchers and use them whenever and however you need them to get outs. Maybe that means guys whose job is to piggyback and it likely means almost everyone has the conditioning to go multiple innings.
  13. Any metric that says Cave is an above average outfielder should be disregarded. He is not good in the field and should have been dealt in the off season if you are keeping Marwin
  14. The apology is meaningless. My opinions will be based on his actions not his words.
  15. I’m always leery of pitchers who struggle with command. There are plenty of guys who throw hard but fail in the majors
  16. I don’t want to sound negative but it sounds like he is a long shot to stick at SS
  17. My faith in Falvine just grew substantially. Keeping Graterol May end up working out for the best anyway
  18. He clearly has figured out how to use what he has.
  19. Or as Kirby used to say “Bad breaking balls are a gift from God”
  20. Great article. I think this illustrates that there is danger in counting on a mid season trade. There is just not much out there
  21. The biggest X factor is health. The Twins rotation was amazing healthy last season so their depth wasn’t tested. Sling together a few injuries this year and it could be ugly
  22. Plouffe interview was fantastic. Thoughtful and articulate I really appreciated his comments on the difficulty of playing SS in the big leagues.
