    Especially catchers. To basically not have either injured for a year and a half is unheard of.

    I did this same song and dance and am now back to Direct stream for an arm and a leg each month. I will not switch again until and unless there is a long term solution in place. I was really excited about the possibility of mlb streaming the games for $20 per month but that wasn’t enough for the Pohlads. I love the Twins but not nearly as much as I used to. Plus modern baseball isn’t nearly as fun to watch so I think this is my last season paying this kind of money to watch the Twins.

    It was a great trade in that I got to enjoy Jake diving for balls in the outfield and landing a solid six feet short of the ball 😂

    No way are they taking on that salary. They stood pat at the deadline last year and I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happens this year.

    This offense will continue to be what it has been - very hot and cold. The question is how many games can the pitching steal when we are on a cold streak.

    And the game ball goes to SWR. It might be smoke and mirrors but he is a pretty fine fifth starter.

    It’s not. It was intended to be a humorous observation about how different the two teams payroll situation is.

    I think this is an accurate assessment of his value. I was just thinking to myself that Yankee fans aren’t sitting around bemoaning that $10 million they are wasting.

    If the Twins give Max the QO and he rejects it wouldn’t he have to sign a contract in excess of $50 million to get the highest comp pick? Would he get that? If no then it’s probably not worth the risk to get a lower comp pick that would be a long shot.

    Yep that’s why I said upthread that the Twins are stuck. They need him but can’t afford him.

    If Kepler walks two of Wallner Larnach Martin and Em Rod will have break through as we need a left and right fielder. I don’t like those odds.

    The Twins are stuck. They don’t have anyone you can count on to take his place next year barring some Wallner and Larnach miracle but they apparently don’t have the money to issue the QO. They don’t have a left fielder either so that makes this really interesting. I would do it but I have no idea what ownership plans to do with payroll.

    Julien had an unsustainable babip last year. Several of us posted that he was a huge regression candidate especially as the league adjusted to him. He now needs to go to St Paul just to get his confidence back Lee has not played any second base yet so I would put Castro there. It won’t be perfect but he handles things in the field ok no matter where they put him.

    Having success in AA is always a positive sign especially at 21 years old. I also like that he should end up being a fielder if he is moved to a corner spot. I get a little nervous when I read about his hitting profile. Sounds a lot like Julien and as we are seeing right now the swing and miss aspect will be exploited in the big leagues.

    Thanks for the look back. I remember him throwing a change up almost a screwball low and on the outside corner to right handed hitters over and over and they couldn’t do anything with it.

    There is zero chance he gets swapped for Margot. This FO is not going to release the right handed bat. If there is an injury or had Kiriloff continued to struggle maybe.

    This reminds me of the Joe Benson debate from a number of years ago. I don’t care if they give him a chance but there is zero chance he takes Margot’s place. The FO is not going get rid of the right handed bat.

    I like this idea. An in depth dive into a prospect would be interesting and more useful than subjective rankings.

    Man the Twins make a lot of mental errors. Larnach has to stop there and make the guy come and tag him to avoid the double play. I swear we learned this stuff in Legion ball.

    Seeing Go Go in this list made me chuckle because Gardy used to call Go Go and Alexi Casilla loose canon one and loose canon two. They made some head scratching plays.
