  1. Seattle needs a left handed hitting outfielder Gallo or Kepler or both for Teoscar Hernandez. We maybe would have to throw in a prospect and or eat some salary.
  2. He gets 3 years and $60 million for sure. No the Twins won’t pay this nor should they. QO and they are all good no matter what happens.
  3. I’ve read in a couple different sources that MLB teams modify OPS to weight OBP more. In some cases as much as 1.5 times more than slugging. This makes sense to me as guys like Gallo and Sano derive most of their slugging with solo homers resulting in good OPS numbers but not that much offensive contribution. A guy like Arreaz is probably undervalued because of this. Can anybody verify or add to this concept?
  4. I’ve been following the Twins for 50+ years. The next true logjam of good players will be the first.
  5. Over managing. Pinch run for Julien is such a marginal improvement and Juliens spot in the order will come up again at least once more.
  6. I love Juliens bat almost as much as I hate his arm. Let’s see….positives….Jeffers blocked about 238 balls in the dirt. Solano looked great at 3rd. He had two really smooth short hop plays. Negatives…..too many to choose from but I NEVER want to hear another Gray quote about pitching deep into games. I’m worried about Buck because he is not catching up to fastballs that are pretty fat. If he can’t hit those he’s cooked. I have never liked his stance with his hands held so high. Too much motion and distance for the bat to travel.
  7. This is logical except Arreaz has good baseball instincts which allowed him to make an impressive move to 1b. I don’t see that in Julien. He would need an off season imo.
  8. To me it’s as simple as this if Buck hasn’t improved physically and at the plate by the time Polo is back then he goes to the IL and Julien is the every day DH.
  9. I want to give a hat tip to Jeffers. The guy must have really worked hard on his game in the off season. His improvement in blocking balls is significant. Although the one he had get by him looked like the old Jeffers. Thought he was trying to trap a mouse.
  10. I was wondering the same thing. Was plenty nervous when they pulled Jax for Ortega.
  11. This summary accurately captures this game. Had to turn it off after the 6 th. How many called third strikes did we take again? I guess the organizational hitting philosophy is to go up there and guess. I love Buck but he should go on the IL and Julien can be the every day DH. I hate Juliens glove but he is about the only guy that gives you hope in the batters box.
  12. How do you value two months of Ohtani? For that matter how do you project his free agent contract? He is such a unicorn it makes it really hard to assess. Will be fun to watch.
  13. The focus on Popkins is missing the point. The FO dictates the hitting philosophy and they create the roster. You can get rid of Popkins but it isn’t going to matter until the FO changes.
  14. So we should hit the ball where it is pitched with a hard line drive swing. This approach seems vaguely familiar.
  15. I am referring to line up changes trades calling guys up. Also showing an ability to change course.
  16. So we have a top flight starting rotation and a suspect bullpen. Here is an idea: have our good starting pitchers pitch less and put more pressure on our suspect bullpen. Brilliant! What a dumb premise.
  17. Well they are all getting judged all the time so there is that.
  18. Don’t judge any of these people by what they say rather by what they do. So far that is nothing. Zero. Nada. Zilch.
  19. This is a problem of organizational philosophy. The FO constructed this lineup with that in mind so you can fire anyone you want and it won’t matter. Their only hope is if Polo Buck and C4 catch fire. This is just another vote of no confidence in this FO. They made the blunder but will stick with their models telling them we will score runs.
  20. Here is what I would try. Kepler plays CF and no Max I don’t care if you like it. Call up Wallner to play right I would also hold my nose and put Julien at third when Polanco comes back. Lastly Jeffers starts two thirds of the games. Ultimately Correa and Buck have to get hot.
  21. Loved the first two picks but not this one. No upside here with a pick that high that probably ends up being a utility infielder. Take a shot at a high school pitcher. They are both likely to never see the bigs but get a guy that has a chance at some upside.
  22. Pleasantly surprised Falvine just made the obvious correct move. Thought for sure we would get an over think and take a guy for under slot money.
  23. At what point will the FO do something? Seriously what has to happen for them to say this isn’t working and we are wasting the best starting rotation in decades? Apparently they will still stick with their projections which at this point are laughable.
