  1. Did Badoo just pimp the warning track fly out?
  2. Hopefully just precautionary. If not that can be a couple weeks easy.
  3. Well at least the bad throw didn’t matter.
  4. Oddly the Twins seem adept at maximizing existing pitchers but poor at drafting and developing them. Anyway Joe has gotten better and his split seems to be a quality pitch. Breaking ball can get better but he is really having a good season. As far as an extension- no chance. I believe he is 27 and has 3.5 years of control left. That means he will be a free agent at 31. Take the good years and thank him for his service.
  5. I am skeptical the Twins will call up Lee to play second when he has only played there a couple of times. In fact I think he should be playing third a lot so next year he can play third and Royce can play second.
  6. The outfield situation next year is a bit concerning. I assume Max will be gone so that means two of Larnach Wallner and Kiriloff have to produce. Not sure I want to bet on that. I guess you can throw Martin in the mix because we are going to have lots of infielders. Would we roll the dice on these guys knowing that if we need to we could play Castro in left?
  7. Didn’t see the game but that one inning sounds like a doozy. Happy for Larnach. He’s been hitting in a little bad luck lately.
  8. The first filter for all of these articles should be is the proposed player making any money? If yes just move on as the Twins aren’t going to add anything significant to payroll.
  9. Austin Martin has an arm like a leg.
  10. People are overthinking this. Vasquez and Miranda didn’t make two relatively basic plays. They make those and the Twins win and all the second guessing is moot.
  11. I’m happy to see his progress particularly the walk rate. I couldn’t care less what his prospect rank is - it means nothing. Prospect ranking is such an overrated waste of time. The only thing that matters is if he helps the Twins some day.
  12. Really pleased with Castro Buck and Correa. Miranda bouncing back is an important development. Not surprised to see Wallner and Julien struggle. And Kepler is back to being Kepler. At least the off season decision on him will be easy. It was pretty obvious they needed to add a starter in the off season but ownership decided that one. And a big shout out to SWR. We would be in a world of hurt had he not stepped up.
  13. As I’ve stated before the Twins play sloppy baseball with regularity. Sometimes it doesn’t cost them, last night it sure did.
  14. My cartoon bubble show RB with shades pulled, doors locked, not answering the door and peaking out the window between innings looking for the van with the weird antenna on the top.
  15. I love Royce - I think he is the real deal. Would I extend him? No chance. Go year to year with him extend the qualifying offer and watch him walk away. We will grieve, take the comp pick and be thankful for the years we had and for the contract we don’t have until age 35. This is doubly true if “rightsizing” is our new payroll normal.
  16. Regarding Festa there is a lot to like but also some red flags. He has three good pitches when they are located properly. He seems comfortable throwing any of the three at anytime which makes it tough on hitters. The red flags are that his command really went away as the game moved on and we saw what mlb hitters will do with pitches not located. He has good velo on the fastball but it is straight as a string meaning it has to be well located or it’s gonna get pounded in the bigs. I know he has improved his command significantly in the last year but I’m not sure he is there yet. Maybe it was first start jitters so we will see.
  17. So Buck is hot goes 3-3 with a monster home run and gets hit on the first pitch after the homer and we are sure it’s unintentional?
  18. Doesn’t look good. Went immediately to the dugout. Looks like a possible broken wrist.
