  1. I get your point but as far as other players making that play you can cross off anyone that doesn’t have an elite arm. Correa threw an absolute bullet to the plate and got him by a whisker. Anyone with less than an elite arm is not making that play
  2. If it was unsung hero of the pitching staff I would vote for Thielbar. The guy just does his job.
  3. Couple thoughts here. Managing now is not like before analytics. Don’t think for a second that plan wasn’t developed by the FO. Schneider just executed the plan (which I disagree with). I like Rocco. One reason why I don’t mind him is because most of the stuff he gets criticized for is dictated by the FO or his players. For example Sonny wants to pitch deeper in games and makes that clear which kicks off another round of criticism of Rocco. Here is the most important point: Sonny usually needs close to 90 pitches to get through the fifth. That’s the issue not Rocco. Pinch hitting: the FO has developed this strategy so whether any of us including Rocco like it, it’s gonna happen. Rocco seems like a smart guy who is learning and his players like playing for him. I’m good with that partially because I don’t believe in the fire in the belly BS.
  4. I think I would put Ober over Ryan. I don’t go for the “but he was injured “ stuff. You take the ball then you get the results. I understand why Sonny is first on the list but if we had game seven I would pick Pablo.
  5. Ump has been so inconsistent on inside part of the plate to lefties. It’s been a coin flip.
  6. Cant throw all fastballs. That was some bad pitch calling there.
  7. Couldn’t agree with this more. Jeffers has been great all year. Max has had a tremendous second half but was pretty bad the first half. Plus I think Max has lost a step in the outfield.
  8. Can’t wait to see Julien work Berrios. He’s gonna throw 25 to Eddy alone.
  9. The Twins did the same thing to Gausman earlier in the year. He’s a two pitch pitcher and they sit on one of the two and spit on the other. If A Rod did his homework he would see that this played out just like before instead of spouting off about stuff he has no idea is true.
  10. At this point I would like to give a hat tip to the FO. I am not their biggest fan but tonight three guys won the game. Lopez and Taylor both acquired by trade in the off season. Royce drafted 1-1 when he wasn’t the clear number one. If I’m going to rip em for various things then I need to credit them for the good stuff.
  11. Except the runner was barely half way to second. He’s a nervous fielder and it will probably really show in the playoffs where the pressure is off the charts. At least he got one which gave Pablo a chance but it’s one of the small plays that can cost you games.
  12. Go ahead and re- read my post and tell me where I said I would bench him. Basically he and Polo were not good in the field but everyone was bitching about Polo. If Royce can’t go I definitely would put Farmer at third Polo at second and DH Julien.
  13. And thanks to Pablo Royce and MAT. The great start by Pablo is the blueprint for this team in the playoffs.
  14. Polanco had a rough game but nobody is talking about Juliens fielding. Had a chance to get two and defaults to first. At a minimum he needs to get the lead runner. And then makes a mess of a pretty routine liner. I get these are the best bats but Polo at third and Julien at second is going to be shaky.
  15. I hate that Julien takes marginal pitches with runners on base but that wasn’t marginal. That was complete horsebleep by the ump.
  16. Sorry farmerguy. Didn’t mean to include your quote in my post
  17. I would say those odds are pretty accurate. That’s why we need Pablo and Sonny to be really good. The lineup and bullpen have improved dramatically in the second half but I still feel like there will be one game where the Twins get 3 hits and k 14 times or we roll out 4 relievers and one of them implodes.
  18. Pressly trade is looking pretty bad right now. Don’t know if Alcala will make it to spring on the 40 man either.
  19. Have you ever considered the guy is doing everything he can to get on the field but his knee is shot? You and others insinuate that he is some sort of slacker because he isn’t on the field which isn’t the case. I get it - he gets injured a frustrating amount but to assign a moral failing to this is not right.
