  1. Of course he is on board. Carlos just needs to sign a 4 year $80 million deal and JP will be right there to welcome him back. Jim Pohlad talks non sense. Only a fool believes what he is saying.
  2. Too bad so many people couldn’t enjoy Joe while they had him.
  3. Well I can assure you that Jeffers sitting on his butt will not discourage Twins opponents from running.
  4. New one just looks dirty. Never got the Kasota gold bit. Has nothing to do with Twins history.
  5. Only a fool listens to Jim Pohlad.
  6. I was always amazed at the Mauer hate. All those batting titles plus gold gloves.
  7. Sadly I think you just accurately projected what our FO will do this off season. I would like to add a top level starter as quantity doesn’t mean quality. I guess I am with RB - why would Milwaukee want to get rid of him?
  8. I think your estimates are accurate. Winder has to end up in the pen. He simply doesn’t have enough stuff to be a starter and his shoulder isn’t likely to tolerate a starter’s workload. Last thought: why would you need six starters when they throw 4-5 innings per start?
  9. Interesting idea. I would do package 2 in a heartbeat.
  10. So our pitching acquisition strategy is: don’t spend money in free agency for elite pitching and don’t spend high draft picks on pitching. And we are confused why we end up with a pile of injury prone # 4 starters.
  11. He isn’t a quality defender. He is extremely poor at throwing out runners and is poor at blocking pitches. People base his positive defensive ratings based on pitch framing which is nebulous at best and complete bull crap at worst.
  12. People do realize that chances are Julien and Martin will never match Jorge’s production right? The guy is one of our best all around players on a great contract so let’s dump him? Prospect love strikes again.
  13. Take a serious run at Rodon or Bassitt. If you can’t sign them I would go a very unpopular route. Package Arreaz and another decent prospect for the best starter available in trade. We have people to cover all the positions Arreaz plays and his value will never be higher.
  14. Maybe Walker. Otherwise this is just adding depth not top end quality.
  15. This is why last off season was a huge opportunity missed. Lots of good pitching options available. It’s clearly going to be tougher this year.
  16. I would keep Max and get a right handed hitting corner outfielder. I would make him compete for playing time with Wall er and Larnach and I would also make him the backup CF. My logic is there is far too great a chance that Larnach Wallner and Kiriloff will either be hurt or ineffective. Gordon is my backup and Celestino spends the year in St Paul preparing for next year.
  17. The trade shouldn’t have been required. The Donaldson signing was a huge mistake so I’m sure as heck not going to credit the FO for cleaning up their mess.
  18. Front line starter right handed outfielder catcher 2 bullpen arms.
  19. Happy medium is exactly what the Twins need to avoid in all their acquisitions going forward. Bogaerts would use up too much of the free agent budget without elite long term performance. I am also not crazy about using prospect capital to trade for a one year solution. If Lewis is on schedule I would bring back Urshela and tell him and Gordon that they can battle it out to be the starter until Lewis comes back.
  20. It’s basically Lewis. Martin couldn’t even play SS for his college team. He should be rotating between 2nd and cf. let’s give him a chance to be really great at one of those positions. Same thing with Lee. Stretched at SS he can be an elite defender at 3rd. Let’s get him there now as he may be in the bigs faster than any recent prospect. If Lewis develops we could have great infield defense going forward. sheesh Cavaco is really looking like a bad pick.
  21. A few young redundant arms? Are you referring to the Twins?
  22. Yea now that I think of it I don’t even want the player they could get in trade unless it was a total low A flyer
  23. My guess is the Twins will try to trade before arb deadline. If they can’t non- tender.
  24. Good to know that Celestino has a lot of mustard on his throws. Makes them travel farther when he overthrows the cut off man.
