  1. Enlow to me is an example of prospect love. He’s never really pitched that well at any point in the minors.
  2. It is strange that they didn’t try him at long relief. I mean it’s not like they didn’t have a spot or four to upgrade in the pen.
  3. Jim Bouton had a great take on this in his book Ball Four. If anyone on these boards hasn’t read it they have to. He developed a reputation as a kook because he had the audacity to question the usual BS. If he gave up a hit the pitching coach would ask him why he gave him something to hit. If he walked a guy the coach would tell him to throw strikes. Hilarious book.
  4. This is spot on particularly about Celestino. Experienced shortstops throw the ball as hard as they need to.
  5. So you are liking Alcala and Celestino for Presley?
  6. I believe last year at this time many of us were saying 2022 was the make or break year depending on the success of the vaunted pitching pipeline.
  7. Probably read this article last year at this time. Their “system” has produced an underwhelming amount of pitching, a slow plodding group of players, many of whom are subpar fielders and basic fundamentals worthy of Legion ball. Ability to adjust course is a necessary requirement for success.
  8. This is very close to what I would do. I assume that Lewis would take over SS when ready. I also love Kiriloff at first the new outfielders and Celestino in the minors. What I like best is a top of the rotation starter.
  9. I hope that was a really good player ?
  10. I love Arreaz but the MVP has to be Correa and it ain’t even close. Arreaz does one thing really well - Correa does everything really well.
  11. The guy was phenomenal. Most people think about his velocity but he has 3 good pitches and he commands them all. The other thing is he consistently drew the toughest situations and still put up these numbers.
  12. Definitely need to target a really good right handed outfielder in free agency. Hopefully one that plays good enough defense that they could slide over to CF occasionally. If they can’t find a good defender then Max becomes the backup CF. If he complains about it, trade him. Oh and no more Celestino. I am done with boneheads that can’t hit cutoff men, throw to the wrong base and are clueless on the bases. This club needs a wake up call.
  13. This. He has stuff, hell so does Megill. What neither have is command which is WAY more important than stuff
  14. This list shows how silly it is to list a bunch of prospects and expect that they will all become major leaguers. Duran was outstanding and one of the few bright spots of the season. The rest of them who knows, especially Winder and Sands who are older do not have dominant stuff and have shown next to nothing in the big leagues.
  15. Minnesota’s competition for Correa? That implies the Twins will be in there trying to out bid other teams. I got a good chuckle out of that one.
  16. Regarding the title of this piece: cleaning up this 40 man will not be much work at all. DFA candidates all over the place.
  17. It doesn’t matter. Rocco is doing exactly what Falvine wants him to do. They are a package deal so get ready for more of the same until we have a different front office.
  18. The shoulder injuries with Mahle and Winder are most concerning. That generally doesn’t bode well long term. In the big picture Kiriloff is the greatest concern in that he could be an elite player. The other guys not so much.
  19. Poor SWR. He probably assumed he would have a major league team behind him on his debut.
  20. I see the Twins played their typical brand of sloppy baseball again today. Jeffers throw on the first inning steal attempt was laughable, again.
  21. You have to keep him on the 40 man just to see what’s on the other side but he’s way more of a suspect than prospect at this point.
  22. Like others I want to thank everyone involved in putting these minor league reports. Coverage not available elsewhere and really nice to have when the big club is struggling
  23. Great to see Ryan finish the season strong and healthy. He’s fun to watch because he generally throws strikes and the game moves along.
  24. I would bring him back as he would not bring much in trade. However playing time would be an open competition with Wallner et al and I would also tell him he is the new back up CF whether he likes it or not. This would bring value to the club.
  25. Yea I missed this as I turned it off after Gordon’s bonehead running play. Glad to see it although it’s about 3 months late. I’m thinking Celestino might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer.
