  1. Thanks for the information on solanco .... Really knew nothing about this guy but now have more insight on what kind of player he is or could be ...
  2. Sabato is one of the biggest bust so far in his career , if anyone should go to driveline baseball it should be Sabato and the twins should pay for it ... Known for his bat and no defense , his bat has been stagnant since he started pro ball , can't believe we have to put him on the 40 man roster after this year or expose him to the rule 5 draft ... Only three seasons to evaluate his talents after the 2023 season ... Man does time fly ...
  3. Will Polanco be on the twins roster in 2024 ... Go ask Correa as he is part of the plan in who stays and who goes ... I like Polanco and always have , a switch hitter is a plus , if your going to replace him apples to apples then brook Lee is the one to take away Polanco's job , Julien isn't a solid defender , Lewis has a strong arm for third , Martin is most likely destined for the outfield ... Polanco will have a solid season in 2023 if his health remains ...
  4. It's good to see some players are aware and serious that they need to fine tune there repertoire and get advice from other professionals ( other than our coaching ) that might impact their game ...
  5. A good list , don't know enough about Salas to determine a concensus ... Plus I'm getting pretty tired of hearing how good our prospects are from the FO and then don't get to see them play in MLB even when they might be ready to show they are ready ... We have them at depth , give some playing time to the prospect and let them get acclimated to the bigs and the faster pace ...
  6. Without reading the article I went right to my first thought from the title ... Marco Raya would be my choice if he stays healthy , that's always the equation , HEALTH ... I'll go read the article now ...
  7. Confusion mostly , don't they have confidence in our prospects ... Only sense it makes is depth ...
  8. Get inside of falvey and lavines head and you should be able to figure out what they are doing ... I sure wish they would give the prospects more playing time , it used to be the twins way years ago ,,, We either won or lost with our prospects ... If the FO doesn't have faith in the prospects abilities I wish they would just keep their mouth shut and quit telling us how good they think they are ...
  9. Thanks , run value is another stat I was unaware of , I'll try and watch the game and compare my eyes with what you have written ... Location and pitch selection are always important , nibbling is not ( Gibson was a nibbler and so are pagan and a few others ) .... Go get em Mano o Mano ...
  10. I think I read Javier he has moved on to San Diego Padres organization ...
  11. It's every fans dream in the spring that we are destined for a world series ... On paper we are much improved , lots of new faces since last year's deadline and throughout the off season ... Got to go out and play with a killer instinct if buxtons dream is to be fulfilled ... Go twins ...
  12. I concur on that theory , Ober as a starter and see if he can stay healthy as a starter for 2023 and then pencil him in for 2024 if he's effective ... Maeda may not like it but he has excelled from the pen ... So to compromise they should piggyback so maeda can work towards his bonuses and Ober can get more innings than 1 every other day ...
  13. Hope the twins fans get the hope they are wishing for ... Even half of them stay healthy would be a plus over last year ... My concern is mahle on injuries and Lopez to have a reset with the twins * maybe the trade rattled him in the second half because he wasn'texpecting it , who reallyknows but well find out early in the season , we gave up alot for these two and they need to produce for the twins ...
  14. He's under team control and most likely won't walk away from it , twins can place him anywhere they like ... If he is pitching well he deserves another shot but it might not be this year as a starting pitcher unless there is an abundance of injuries , could possibly see some relief in 2023 in the MLB ...
  15. I hope I get my hope and he can stay healthy ... I'm sure he works hard in the off season to strengthen his body and hope his body stays strong through the season ... No guarantee but I'll take what I can get from Buxton , we now have the defensive depth to play his position , so that is a plus ...
  16. I agree with your article Cody, although I wouldn't by into any stock at what the FO says ... Strong link , starting pitchers ... Weak link , bullpen ... We need long relief to help not wear down the good arms in the bullpen inning by inning ... Keep a starter potential for long relief on a blowout game early , or piggyback 2 pitchers , 1 going 5 and the other going 4 innings ... Definitely would be nice to try long relief once again ... Best players come north ... One thing I'm glad of is the FO didn't go dumpster diving this off season but I'm sure there will be some as teams cut players during spring training ...
  17. We need better disciplined players that have better skills in hitting , running and fielding .... If he listened to his father as a good son should and has the skills to be successful , why don't the other players on our team listen to the coaches to be more disciplined at hitting , running or fielding ... ( that is if the coaches are coaching these skills of the game ) ...
  18. He has always seemed like a very mature person , very positive as well .... Can't wait to see him back in a twins lineup and hopefully he can replicate the small sample he showed before his injury in 2022 ... We need his offense in a twins lineup ...
  19. I feel the excitement of others ... But can the twins right the ship with Rocco as manager ... He needs to change his style of managing and go with more gut feelings instead of his spread sheets , more stealing , hit and run now without the massive shifts , teach the hitters discipline batting and cut down strikeouts , ( as a player matures he should cut down his strikeouts , i dont see this happening , no situational hitting)... Was his manager of the year worthy in 2019 when the team had career years with the so called juiced ball , ( I say no because I didn't have anything to base his managing skills on ) , since then he has been mediocre and then worse the past 2 seasons , take the talent and tap into that talent and make them better ( run , throw and catch ) ... I know it sounds negative but these are things Rocco needs to change with the talent we have for winning baseball ...
  20. There seems to be less purists of the game today then ever before ... I would favor the ghost runner after the 13th or 14th inning if the game was still tied ... I'm for the winning team to really earn the win , not help in scoring by adding the ghost runner ... There are exciting games in extra innings sometimes where both teams scores in the same inning and moves on to the next inning , and are exciting ( 1986 , Houston and the Mets was the most exciting extra inning game I have ever seen , 16 innings ) ... Some new rules are good to speed up the game but MLB hasn't found the right solution on most of them ... The pitchers are only allowed to throw over to firstbase a few times and on the final attempt if the runner isn't caught stealing, it is a balk and runner goes to second base ... what a crock , it won't be anymore interesting watching baseball than before .... I know what I like and I'm a purist , the game I love and played just isn't quite the same , my time is valuable to me but I don't mind extra inning suspense ...
  21. I can't believe all this bickering on the assumption of Joe Mauer getting in to the hall of fame ... Everyone has their opinions and are entitled to them ... Will Joe Mauer get into the hall of fame , ONLY TIME WILL TELL NEXT JANUARY ... see you next JANUARY when the ballots are read for discussion on whether joe gets elected or not ...
  22. Great article ... didn't know Gibson had the same surgery , im more optimistic that it works out for kiriloff on his recovery of wrist injuries ... we're pulling for you Kirilloff ...
  23. I wish the twins were capable to retain their coaches when they got a good one , hitting coach left , bench coach left , pitching coach left mid season of 2022 ... Rocco needs smart people to surround him that keep their heads in the game ( two mound visits in the same inning with no intention of removing the pitcher , this error happened 2 years in a row because all the coaches didn't have their heads in the game ) , to many blunders by coaching and the twins lack fundamental baseball ... The twins can't seem to win because of coaching , you need a better plan especially in close games
  24. Just read the title ... Players had career years , juiced ball they say , was a very good season to watch baseball , though alot of those homeruns they hit were solo Homer's ( over 50 percent ) , not a game changer 3 run homer ... Lots of double digit wins was very exciting ... Now I'll go read the article and responses ....
