  1. I just can't get too excited about a kid in the low minors with so few innings pitched. I'll be watching him as he try's to advance, but it looks like a while before anyone can get a real good idea of what he can do,
  2. AK must stay healthy this season to stay relevant IMO. Similar to Buxton, he has been very injury prone so far. Unfortunately, he has never been near the quality as BB when healthy.
  3. All players need to be constantly adjusting in todays game due to the advanced scouting and video. If making adjustments will improve a player they had best be made.
  4. He's either got to raise his avg, or OB%, or power if he wants to climb the ranks. Hopefully last year at AA was an adjustment time for him and he can be more comfortable with more confidence this year.
  5. I hope he comes back strong, but as is the case, I'll have to see him in game action. For under 1 mil spent It looks like a low risk, high reward signing if he can return to the form from a few years ago.
  6. There has to be better options out there. If not I go with the kids.
  7. Thanks I didn't know I could do that!
  8. Not sold on Topa yet. There are many players that have had a good season only to fall flat afterward. Hope that's not the case. Desclafini has been sub par for the last few years, plagued by injuries. If either one pans out this will be a successful trade. Now what will they use the 8 mil they got as part of the deal, and what about Varland?
  9. Lee has a lot to prove before I offer him an extension. I would like to see how AK and Miranda look this spring. I can easily see one of them as trade bait if healthy.
  10. The Pioneer Press is reporting that they get 8 mol in cash. If they can use that on a quality starter or a really good RH bat then I can call it a good trade.
  11. I agree that short term this makes them worse. Just a handful of days to go til ST starts so I'll wait and see if anything else comes of this trade. As is I give the FO a C- to D+. Polo was one of my favorite players of all time. He was consistently good in the clutch and being a SH played well. I wish him all the luck!
  12. I have no confidence in Gordon. I'd rather give that roster spot to Martin or Larnach or Miranda.
  13. I get that but most of us don't speak or read portuguese. So why don't you do it in english also so that most of us can read.
  14. Nathan probably belongs in the Hall. He was one of the most dominating pitchers of his time. When Nathan came in I felt the game was over!
  15. Good article. If the Twins want to move him to the pen (looks like a good idea) they need to find another starter to replace him, and not a Shoemaker type!
  16. Translate to English please. After all this is Minnesota!
  17. Was it Tom Petty who said the waiting is the hardest part?
  18. Catching has to be the most physically demanding position in baseball. Just squatting down the way they do and the wear it puts on their legs. Not to mention the foul tips and occasional smack from a big backswing. Joe was thought of a lot higher nationally then locally. I really don't know why.
  19. Driveline could be the answer to the shape of his pitches. Think that would help his sweeper and probably the change up. But I think the article is right about his angle and release point.
  20. If they can't get another starter via trade then IMO they will need to get help for the pen. I'm not talking a reclamation project but 1 or 2 decent arms.
  21. IMHO what Ohtani does is amazing, but I still give the edge to the Babe!
  22. They only have to pay him league minimum thanks to the Yankees.
  23. How many AB's does steamer predict? Would he be a 30 HR guy as a platoon player? I agree with miracleb that any money should go to improve pitching, unless signing Hoskins allows the team to trade for a starter or even a good reliever or two. The pen seems to me to be the weakest part of this team. Sign even a decent mid tier starter and maybe move Varland into the pen? Even though they seem reluctant to do this it seems like a good move to me.
  24. That was a fun season. Carew stealing home 7 times. Killebrew raked. Martin was Martin. I'd love to see this team get a little more aggressive on the bases, so much fun to watch!
