  1. Agreed. The lineup always feels more solid with Polanco in it. More depth.
  2. Yeah, I think so too. He's certainly due, and Rocco keeps putting him in the lineup. Also, I'd love to see Lopez have a really dominant start. (lots of other things to wish for, but I'll leave it at that)
  3. Good question. Maybe Correa's insane off season has taken a toll. Who knows. Meanwhile, his protege, Royce Lewis, just exudes confidence and energy. As an aside, what about Buxton? Surely he's hurt... the lack of production is hard to believe. Well, hope springs eternal. Taking the rubber match vs the Astros tonight would be a good start.
  4. So did Shannon Stewart. It can become very painful and frustrating, as it can easily reoccur. Let's hope for the best.
  5. This year or any other year. It was right down the middle! Unbelievable!
  6. Eric Davis comes to mind as equally fragile. Another incredible talent.
  7. And amazingly, he finished the at bat. Well, maybe the diagnosis and recovery time prove inaccurate.
  8. Yeah, but not known for his fielding. He ain't no Brooks Robinson. The ongoing evolution of the Twins this year, both offensively and pitching wise, is fun to watch. But defense really is a huge issue.
  9. Alex Colome. Now that's sinful!
  10. I think I read that Pablo Lopez was the NL pitcher of the month last April with the Marlins. Be that as it may, all 3 of Gray, Ryan and P Lopez have done wonders in solidifying the rotation. Here's to an equally robust May!
  11. I think managers (and umpires) rarely win anywhere. When the Blue Jays WON back to back World Series in '92 and '93, there was endless criticism of manager Cito Gaston. Amazing....
  12. Kaat, Perry, Grant, Pascual - but that was more than 55 years. Ok. So they all played on the '65 World Series championship team, and Kaat's in the Hall. If the Twins win the WS this year, I believe there'd be a good case for comparison.
  13. After my post, I thought, wait a minute, the Bomba Squad won 101. Sure enough, the Yanks clocked in at 103 in 2019! And none of this even takes the Twins abysmal post season numbers against New York into account. I have a feeling the Twins will win this aft, to put an (!) on the season series, AND a little German payback. Hope I'm right...
  14. In a sense, the Twins lost the trade by making the trade in the first place. Donaldson was already past his prime, and breaking down when the Twins acquired him. His personality could be tolerated when he was elite (see Blue Jays), but after that, not so much. Luckily, they were able to unload him.
  15. I'll assume you made that comment out of frustration , which is understandable. Maybe revisit that after the season.
  16. At the very least, German's antics might make Cole less likely to "violate" tomorrow.
  17. With the Twins as banged up as they are, the lineup has been scary. ie. anemic This is exciting. I remember Eddie Rosario homering in his first AB. Maybe that's just an "Eddie " thing. I'm just going to watch this unfold, starting today. Bonne chance, M. Julien!
  18. The domino effect of his not playing centre is huge. The end doesn't justify the means. Baffling.
