  1. I don't think so. I think Rocco would have preferred to have Headrick go the final 3. (in a perfect world) Today and tomorrow are super important, so after Headrick and Floro, that was enough relief staff usage. It was a tactical move; just like Francona's use of Fry. Made for an odd last few innings, for sure, but both managers are just trying to win.
  2. One explanation is that maybe he's setting up the bullpen for the looming Guardian series. And I love that the big 3 will be starting Monday through Wednesday. In order, Lopez, Gray, Ryan. That series will be crucial, and I think I'm beginning to smell October....
  3. Well, Arraez already had a significant body of work compared to Julien. That could be part of the reason. It's because of Julien's small sample size that I'd be reluctant to deal him so early on. Seems a bit reckless to me. Unless, of course, someone made an offer that could not be refused.
  4. To clarify, I was asking the poster to substantiate the assertion: "He's not injured" . Hence my comment: "How would you know?" It's not about handing an excuse to Carlos Correa, as you put it.
  5. So many notable performances. Great come from behind win to kick off the homestand!
  6. If the Twins were not in the post season picture, would Buxton playing centre this year be a thing? Either his body is ready to take it , or not. Just saying.
  7. Wonder if there is a composite team SDI ranking, year to date?
  8. After the Philly outing, I thought Keuchel might not be given another start. Box of chocolates, indeed.
  9. Could be worse. Imagine being a fan of the Padres this year, or heaven forbid, the Mets. Now that's demoralizing.
  10. Beware the Guardians, IMO. A lot can happen in one week, let alone 6. And yeah, Duran and the bullpen in general are concerning at this point in time.
  11. Guys who never actually played for the Twins/food Isiah Kiner-Falafel 🙂
  12. Expanding the roster to 28 on Sept 1st will certainly help.
  13. Particularly for the playoffs. With the luxury of a 4.5 game lead over the Guardians, I wouldn't be surprised to see those 2 with conservative pitch counts from here on in, provided that lead holds up.
  14. Good line. Well, at least Gallo's game yesterday, and it was a very good one, allows me to dream that he may stay hot today, and be named AL player of the weekend. Wait a minute, Suarez is a southpaw. Are you up to the challenge, Joey?
  15. The whole premise of an apology is kinda silly, but if there were to be one, it would be from them, not to them. That said, keep up the productivity, guys!
  16. I don't think the Twins are dysfunctional. Enigmatic, definitely.
  17. And then there was his home run as a Met! Remarkable career (even if he stole a Cy Young from Johan.)
  18. I would have had Pablo Lopez somewhere in the top 5
  19. With 9 weeks(!) left in the regular season, there should be many more "flashes" for the Twins. Look what just happened in only one week! (sigh). I'm going to sit back and enjoy it. Plus all the jockeying for position in the wild card races. Makes most games on the daily MLB schedule compelling. Players make in season adjustments; sometimes, so do fans.
  20. Hmm... Optimistically "A Change is Gonna Come" (Sam Cooke) Realistically "Tomorrow Never Knows" (Beatles)
  21. Sweet dreams are made of this..🎶 (apologies to the Eurythmics)
  22. Don't understand why you'd say that. I mean, did they reacquire Bundy and Archer overnight? Royce Lewis is the very definition of spark plug, and his return is imminent. Polanco solidifies any lineup. But as you say in your post, we'll just have to see how it plays out. With nine weeks left in the regular season, there could easily be a shift of 10 or 15 games between the Twins and Guardians.. This is not the time to blink. I am confident they won't sell. Just makes no sense to do so.
