  1. I have to admit, I don't even remember him, but what a fascinating baseball journey. Sorry to hear his life's journey was cut short. Thanks for the write up, Seth.
  2. Yes, but mental with a large dose of attitudinal. I live in Toronto, so I guess my exposure to Blue Jays talk radio plays a part in my opinion. His rise was really fast; his fall even faster. I just have the sense that acquiring him would be a mistake.
  3. Manoah went from an elite talent to an absolute trainwreck , literally from opening day in 2023. I wouldn't give up much for him, and frankly, I wouldn't even want him on the Twins.
  4. Enjoyed your post, and agree with most of it. I,too would cast a vote for Provus. Also quite fond of Suzyn Waldman (3 cheers for septuagenarians)! How about Tom Hamilton? His call of the Jose Ramirez/Tim Anderson dustup was priceless... One thing you said puzzled me. If Morneau is a bit verbose at times, I find Jessica Mendoza an absolute motormouth; almost unlistenable. Oh well, chacun a son gout. BTW.. You were great in the new Beatles "Now and Then " video. Good job😊
  5. I've only been watching the Twins the last 3 or 4 years on MLB TV. Bremer certainly has a very good broadcaster's voice. I was somewhat surprised at the news. Hope it's not health related. I, too, would support Cory Provus in the role. Maybe Trevor Plouffe can be in the mix. He provided some good energy.
  6. Haha. Good one! An aside . What better way to illustrate the randomness of baseball, than having Jake Cave represent your last chance.
  7. Given the bittersweet nature of the season, I thought the tone of this article was appropriate. Respectful, even. Well done. Thanks!
  8. If only. Were that the case, there might have been a rendez-vous in Houston tonight.
  9. If Gray had pitched well, would you then be expecting something from Ryan? Don't get the reasoning....
  10. Not so much to Canadians. I love mlb.tv but unfortunately, post season games are blacked out ( in real time) north of the border. However, you can still get the radio broadcasts live. I listened to the first 5 innings, went to sleep, and watched the rest this morning. It's Thanksgiving here, so don't have to work today. All worked out pretty well. The Twins are, as the saying goes, clicking on all cylinders. They're looking confident. Notably Polanco. I think I saw him display something close to swagger at one point! That would be a first, and I think it's significant. I'm getting ahead of myself, but man, it would be great to finish off the Astros at home, and have ample time to recalibrate for the ALCS opener on Sunday.
  11. It's been quite the whirlwind season for Mr. Ober. Pretty cool. This could be the start of something big (and tall)!
  12. He might accept the qualifying offer if he only wants to play for one more year. Prediction: If He gets a ring, that's exactly what he'll do.😉
  13. This point was going to be the essence of my post, but you beat me to it! C4 has shown he's a baseball savant. Can't wait for the Astros series. And their former catcher Mr Vazquez won't hurt, either. I feel for Berrios. Double gut punch of getting the hook in the 4th, and having to watch his former team celebrating in his former baseball home.
  14. Just want to mention that Rocco is more self assured now than he was as a rookie manager in 2019. I don't know how much a manager really impacts the game, but for what it's worth, I do not get that sense of self-confidence from John Schneider.
  15. And last but not least...Michael A Taylor. There were many. This team has gelled so well, Love it!
  16. Twins did everything right. Very impressive win. Not really as close as the score. How sweet it is!
  17. I'm guessing this article was in the can, and submitted before Luplow was recalled.
  18. I was confused at first, until I realised this article was written before Ryan's start last night.
  19. I don't know. But I'd look to Barry Bonds at his peak. To me, even more remarkable, is an intentional walk with no one on base! Again, Bonds. Royce Lewis. Wow. Major role in making Twins baseball so much fun now, and for the next 2 weeks and beyond. Keep doing what you do, and please stay healthy. Pardon my digression here, but I only realized yesterday, I think, that the Mariners and Rangers have 7 games left against each other, including the final 4 of the season. How cool is that. Couldn't have scripted it better for the Twins (and the Blue Jays)
  20. Gimme Toronto. The Jays are reeling right now, and look extremely vulnerable. I watched the condensed version of their matchup with Texas last night, 10-0 (!) Rangers at the Rogers centre. At the end of the clip the camera panned on Berrios in the dugout. I interpreted his expression as "gee, I wish I was still on the Twins."
  21. Time will tell, but the lineup sure isn't the same without him.
  22. I wonder if he plays the ukelele. Distant cousin of Tiny Tim?
  23. Twins now 8-4 in this much anticipated 13 game stretch vs Texas and Cleveland ! How awesome is that?
