  1. Before he really implodes? I think that train has left the station. Tonight should be interesting; Seattle's hitting up a storm. We shall see....
  2. Ok...clarification. My "I think not" comment was based on the sentence "What’s Next? The Twins and BLUE JAYS return Saturday with an exciting pitching matchup." The Jays are in Philadelphia this weekend, and Brown does not pitch for them. I hadn't considered whether Ryan or Brown are viable Cy Young candidates.
  3. "What’s Next? The Twins and Blue Jays return Saturday with an exciting pitching matchup. Two Cy Young contenders, Joe Ryan and Hunter Brown, will take the mound. First pitch is at 3:10 PM." Hmmm...I think NOT😅
  4. This ain't no June swoon. More like a June KA-BOOM. Then again, today's the first day of the rest of the season.
  5. Scary, to be sure, but I highly doubt it's a record. Too many teams, and years for this not to have happened before. Seems to me, teams have given up double digits in all three games of a 3 game set. As for the Twins; bye bye run differential. (that should be their biggest problem) Oh well, on to Houston. The sheriff will restore order.
  6. Impressive! I didn't know that. I maintain that the Twins have a great deal of potential. The pitching in particular could take them a long way. The winning streak gave them relevance. Let's hope they can weather this latest round of setbacks.
  7. Buxton with 3 walks! Who would have thunk it. Must be a career first.... Apparently it is...according to Gleeman
  8. It would also be nice if Keaschall proves to be the real deal. Sometimes the spark comes from an unexpected source.
  9. If Raleigh wins AL player of the month, the Twins should get honourable mention. I have a soft spot for Jose Ramirez;; really like the guy. I'd love to see him get the nod, BUT it'll probably be Judge (or Raleigh or Devers) Home runs trump 21 game hitting streaks. Hope I'm wrong about that. Remarkably, Kody Clemens quite deservedly grabbed the honour for the good guys!
  10. Yeah, it was a gut wrenching loss yesterday, but you have to prioritize. You don't mess around with concussions. The same was done for Correa. Played 2 and got a game off to assess. Nice to see that they both looked great!
  11. He was activated on Friday from concussion protocol, and immediately played 2 extra inning games. I would guess it was pre-planned as a precautionary measure.
  12. Thanks! Very impressive trajectory. I was thinking it might have been something like that.
  13. I like Zebby's ability to recover after a rocky 1st, and pitch 7. I think it bodes well for his future. Wonder what his inning by inning pitch count was....
  14. I watched the condensed version on mlb.com this morning. It's a 10 minute clip, but I must have paused about 16 times to process the remarkable unfolding of events. i don't disagree with Provus, who called it the biggest win of the year!
  15. I've had a nagging thought for a while. Suppose the Twins have roughly the same positioning at the trade deadline as they do now. That is, a wild card spot. So, one might think, given the ownership situation, they might not add on. But given that same situation, is it possible they'd be sellers. Obviously, something I'd prefer not to contemplate, but there it is. To be clear, I'm not being an alarmist. Just wonder if that possibility has occurred to others.
  16. You can't win 'em all. What a season, though. The narrative's been rewritten, and we're only 49 games in. Just anticipating the next chapter.
  17. Cards leading Detroit 5-0 after five. Sonny Gray pitching for St Louis
  18. I wonder how Sano would fare against Joey Gallo, supposedly working on reinventing himself as a pitcher. Interesting matchup🙂
  19. Indeed it is the first time! I liked the question, so I checked. (closest would be 4-0 over the Royals on April 9th) The Twins pitching could propel them to higher heights. What a cool turnaround! What a RELIEF!!
