    Yeah, how about that. If Jorge Polanco had been in the Beatles, he'd have been George Harrison, the quiet one. I don't think I ever saw him as animated as he was after that game winning hit. Happy for him. Always liked the guy. Just another piece in the Twins diaspora.

    For sheer entertainment, this was a great baseball game. When the season is over, I'm confident Byron Buxton will have achieved 30/30; a first in Twins history. Cool!

    I think deliberate tanking is wrong. The games become a spectacle, a sideshow. Whichever of the top draft picks you "earn", may have no relevance in any case.

    Kind of cool that Buxton finally stole 3rd, and at the same time got his 20/20! I wonder if anyone has ever done that without a caught stealing. And 30/20 is likely, with an outside chance at 30/30 In such a season, I think it's legit for him to focus on that. It'll certainly hold my interest.

    What country? i'm gonna go to the game tonight. What a contrast. For the Jays, it's let the good times roll. Anyway, it's an opportunity to see this Twins group in the flesh. (with "the experience" on the mound, no less) No expectations, just going to take it all in. Que sera, sera.

    In the interest of accuracy, he did not. Pitched a third of an inning and gave up a home run to former Jay Marcus Semien. Jays scored 4 in the bottom of the eighth, and Jeff Hoffman won the game. (or maybe you just meant that Varland's team won the game)

    What a game! Apart from the walk off, I was impressed by Keaschall's post game interview. Appears to be very genuine and grounded. Not bad for a 22 yo. True grit from Michael Tonkin, too!

    Yeah. I watched a clip of game 2, where C4 and Sonny Gray teamed up to pick off Vladdy at 2nd. Remember that? The big guy never knew what hit him. It was a thing of beauty!

    Surely , a sale could have been achieved without the decimation of a franchise. Historically, I doubt that any change of ownership has been this demoralizing.

    In fact, the Jays are first in the AL in AVG, first in OBS, third in OPS, and fourth in runs scored. Hardly "really thin offensively".

    Reality. Tonight. In Cleveland. I'll be listening to Tom Hamilton, the Guardians excellent radio broadcaster. It'll be interesting. It's still baseball.
