    I love Tom Hamilton, but at one point last night he referred to Jenkins as Walter Jenkins. Mr. Hamilton, you are one of my favorite broadcasters, however for that faux pas, I'm gonna have to deduct 2 points from your wins above replacement. (Ok folks, you didn't expect me to talk about the actual game , did you?)

    Rehashing the Twins ineptitude vs the Yanks is getting old. (admittedly it's epic) Zebby Matthews has been pitching really well of late, AND he goes deep into games. Very significant, for reasons that need not be stated. My $$$'s on the Twinkies this aft. As a Canadian , I think it's more likely than Canada beating Morocco on the pitch.

    Nick Kurtz leads the majors with 64.....nobody has 70; we'll have to agree to disagree

    He also has 56 RBI; prorated to 103. I'd prioritize that over his OPS+.

    Freudian slip...runs given up by this bullpen shouldn't count. Slight digression, but Varland is killing it with the Jays. Still baffled by that trade deadline move.

    I'm staying away from predictions. I'll state the obvious., though. It's a lot more meaningful when there's even a hint of relevance, and a hell of a lot more fun to watch!

    And SWR pitched 4 scoreless innings the other day in his debut with/ return to the Jays.

    Re Keaschell.... Yes, he could become a sparkplug, batting near the top of the order. But man, his fielding is atrocious; reminds me of Julien, and that ain't good. A little bit of power would be nice, too.

    Well, yeah; but Berrios hasn't exactly been a world beater with the Jays since the trade. Maybe slightly better than OK, and now he's seriously breaking down. (His best WAR years were with the Twins, I just checked) If Martin proves to be legit long term, then the trade was acceptable, imo

    Now 0-3 in 1 run games. Too bad about the 'pen, but the writing's been on the wall since the last trade deadline.🙁

    I noticed that the Twins have played only a single one run game so far, which is last in the majors. Given the somewhat shaky bullpen, this is something to watch. They won't always be protecting a late multi run lead. Anyway, this has all been pretty amazing. You gotta love baseball!

    Justin Verlander has signed a 1 year deal with the Tigers. Amazing, back where it all began. Skubal , Valdez....sure the Central is winnable; just not for the Twins.
