  1. What country? i'm gonna go to the game tonight. What a contrast. For the Jays, it's let the good times roll. Anyway, it's an opportunity to see this Twins group in the flesh. (with "the experience" on the mound, no less) No expectations, just going to take it all in. Que sera, sera.
  2. In the interest of accuracy, he did not. Pitched a third of an inning and gave up a home run to former Jay Marcus Semien. Jays scored 4 in the bottom of the eighth, and Jeff Hoffman won the game. (or maybe you just meant that Varland's team won the game)
  3. At least. Ryan? Pablo?..even Buck... who will they be playing for in 2026.
  4. What a game! Apart from the walk off, I was impressed by Keaschall's post game interview. Appears to be very genuine and grounded. Not bad for a 22 yo. True grit from Michael Tonkin, too!
  5. I'll need to stop checking obsessively on the Twins diaspora, and focus on the team and what they got in return.. (or I'll go NUTS)😅
  6. Matt, I did double check, but I knew exactly what you were alluding to with the Honky Chateau 3rd track. It was a good album. Sigh....
  7. Yeah. I watched a clip of game 2, where C4 and Sonny Gray teamed up to pick off Vladdy at 2nd. Remember that? The big guy never knew what hit him. It was a thing of beauty!
  8. Surely , a sale could have been achieved without the decimation of a franchise. Historically, I doubt that any change of ownership has been this demoralizing.
  9. In fact, the Jays are first in the AL in AVG, first in OBS, third in OPS, and fourth in runs scored. Hardly "really thin offensively".
  10. Reality. Tonight. In Cleveland. I'll be listening to Tom Hamilton, the Guardians excellent radio broadcaster. It'll be interesting. It's still baseball.
  11. I live in Toronto. It'll be interesting to see how Varland adapts to his new team, city and country. I wish him well. (but why oh why was he traded; smh)
  12. I agree. But there's no relief staff left. That's what I was getting at.
  13. Spectre of ownership change has been a dark cloud hanging over the season. Hasn't helped. In an earlier article, this was referred to as "purgatorial ownership issues". Amen to that.
  14. Sure, why not...and the Twins deliberately lost 2 of 3 in Colorado because they really, really want the White Sox record of futility last year to remain the gold standard.
  15. Well, sometimes you just gotta pivot... The Twins are one of 7 teams who've never had a player with a 30/30 season...EVER! Buxton this year?
  16. When the Twins started off the season 7-15, my rationale was even if it takes them 100 games to reach .500, there's still hope. There is definitely still hope, It's absolutely amazing that after more than a decade of setbacks, Buxton is having a season like this! Doesn't he have incentive bonus clauses in his contract?
  17. Satire aside for a sec, "purgatorial ownership status" just nails it. THAT is the Twins single biggest problem.
  18. Finally, and yes, it's taken until today.... I no longer have any illusions about making the playoffs. Guess i've been in denial C'est la vie.
  19. I understand the frustration, Matt. In fact, I share it. But calling Sunday night's game a massacre that they deserved, is a somewhat spiteful comment, imo.
