  1. The mere fact that he stunningly signed with the Twins at all, indicates that nothing's out of the question. I'd be thrilled with a second year. As a poster mentioned earlier, speculation will have more relevance at the end of the season.
  2. Way to go, Nick Gordon. Taking it to another level! Loved the breast stroke at home plate in the bottom of the tenth. Kudo's to the Twins for having to go with a lineup not remotely resembling the "A" team, and finding a way to win.?
  3. It was inevitable. Things change quickly. Seems like yesterday that Rogers and Duffey were the Twin stalwarts out of the pen. He's been horrible. Someone will pick him up, though.
  4. Bullpen looking good. Would help having a second lefty. I suspect we'll see Moran again before long.
  5. The Jays have issues now, too. Won't be seeing much of Springer, if at all. Essentially that's why they picked up Merrifield. Stripling, who's been pitching well, just went on the IL. Bichette's just not hitting. A week or 10 days ago, I was dreading this series. Now, not so much.
  6. The next couple of months should be a lot of fun, as the pennant races are taking shape. How about that Sandy Leon. Early candidate for AL player of the month? Yee-haw!! Bring on the Jays...
  7. The front office is addressing what needs to be addressed. The White Sox and Guardians haven't done much. The Twins post season stock has risen dramatically. Gee, I hope Carlos Correa is as impressed as I am.
  8. I vote for lessley. Morneau's not that bad. But then, I'm Canadian, and perhaps biased.?
  9. True, and though the Twins lost by a demoralizing 9 runs, they maintained their sartorial dignity.
  10. I'm wondering just how significant Wes Johnson's departure was to this current mess.
  11. Am I to assume then, that you do not approve of Buxton's contract? As far as Kirilloff; doesn't seem to be hitting with much power. Is that the wrist?
  12. Post season hero, huh? That would be an unexpected but very cool twist. Too bad, but "Sano's last stand" seems inevitable.
  13. The way I see it, as long as we're scoreboard watching, we're still relevant!
  14. Worth mentioning that ESPN had Duran on Sunday, with MLB.COM "undecided". Who knows, maybe the bullpen will be reinforced by then. I suppose you can factor in Monday being an off day, as well.
  15. I have nothing against Bailey Ober whatsoever, but it seems as if his perceived value has increased in his absence. To me, he's been like a Michael Pineda in his time with the Twins; steady but hardly a stopper. I think a healthy Polanco would be a great asset in the second half. Miranda, Kirilloff, Correa, Sanchez, Kepler, et al. The more, the merrier. We shall see. On a side note, noticed Ryan is starting tomorrow against the Tigers, and Duran (!) on Sunday. as an opener? followed by Gray? The plot thickens.
  16. So Buxton is starting in CF on Tuesday. Sheesh! Are the outfield walls padded at Chavez Ravine?
  17. If so, it's pretty bad. More like an Eric Davis impersonation.
  18. Agreed. 2 stolen bases past the half way point in games played? Sure, lots of extra base hits, and few walks, valid rationales, but methinks there's more to the story.
  19. Why not? He threw 8 pitches in the 9th! (otherwise known as an Arraez at bat..lol) I don't get it. Duran couldn't have come out in the 10th? with an off day tomorrow, to boot?
  20. Sure was! Thinking of his heyday with the A's and Cards; it's kind of sad (but just a little)?
  21. Well, all I can say is that yesterday's game was the definition of an antidote. From an appreciative fan!
  22. Well, even a split of the remaining 4 games in this series is acceptable. But I'm greedy, and 3 of 4 (and a 5 game lead) would be better. And Baltimore is on deck. Anyone notice that the Orioles have been playing really well lately?
  23. Hopefully Sonny Gray and company will be "hungry like the wolf" tomorrow night in Cleveland. Sorry, that's all I got...LOL
