  1. How about E. Cabrerra for Kepler Garlick and Martin?
  2. I enjoyed the read also, but it almost reads like a grand 6-year plan to sign CC. I actually favor the "He fell into our laps - twice", scenario. Certainly not complaining, and I give kudos to the FO for getting the deal done. I know Falvey likes to use the term creative, and I believe he is. I'm not sure how much his restrictions affect his performance, but I am beginning to like the results. I absolutely loved the Donaldson signing at the time, and even loved it more when they traded him away. Some of the dumpster diving gets old, but usually at a low cost. And when one of those dumpster plucks pans out in a big way, we are going to love it. So I guess I'm just gonna let the FO do their job, and I"ll just sit back and laud their decisions, or complain about them. What a great fan I am, eh?
  3. I agree. And we certainly have a need for some backup catching in the minors. Hopefully only one of Vasquez and Jeffers will be on the IL at one time.
  4. I like this deal as a low risk/high reward move, and now I would like the Twins to work out an extension for either Gray or Mahle, or both. Tack on 2-3 years on their contracts and it would look to me that the Twins are looking to win over the long haul.
  5. +++Love your analysis. I think the Twins should be going after Cabreara or Luzardo. But I would hate to give up on any of Lewis, Larnach, Kepler, and definately not Lee or Prilipp. Again, great write-up. Edit: meanto put Kirriloff in there. Not Kepler.
  6. I would like to add Chaffin and McCutchen or Mancini via free agency. For that to happen we have to find two spots on the 40 man. Currently I can only see DFAing Moran or McGill. Only other way would be to trade some off of our 40 man for less 40 man candidates coming back. I now have a renewed confidence (after getting CC back) in our front office for doing some creative maneuvering. Also, after being dead set against signing Bauer, I am becoming al little softer on that idea. Still not real keen on it though. Softening up on Wacha also, providing depth if a trade is not made for a more top of the line SP. Howevvveerrr, If we went into the season with the roster as currently constructed, I'd be fine with that. I just don't think Falvine is done tinkering and I strongly believe there will be some kind of trade coming. My personal preference though, is to not trade Kirilloff, Larnach, Lewis, Prielipp and definately not Brooks Lee.
  7. I really hate the long term contracts. I think anything over 6 years is to long except in cases like Buxton where you have lower guarenteed money and great bonuses for great performance. That being said, I think that unfortunately this is the world we currently live in. And "that being said", I would like to see the Twins sign Correa but only if it doesn't prevent the Twins from giving extensions to some of our deserving young players in 4 or 5 years. If we don't get Correa, then go with what we have. I like alot of our young prospects and hope to see them do well.
  8. Of all the players on the Twins and including prospects, I have the most confidence and hope for Larnach. Really don't have any reason other than gut feeling, but I still see Larnach as a future All-Star and I hope it is with the Twins. P.S. Also see Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis as future All-Stars. --------------OH CRAP, my crystal ball just fell off the table and shattered.
  9. Interesting. But I'm not holding my breath any longer. Heck, I may not live to see Correa sign anywhere. And I ain't planning on dieing any time soon.
  10. So, what would the cost of insurance be on a contract like this. I would guess somewhere near 100 times my lifetime earnings or more?
  11. I think Kepler is the most likely to be tradded. Walner is young and inexpensive right now. Martin hits from the right side and has a fairly high cieling, so I wouldn't trade him at least not this year. Kirilloff and Larnach have high cielings. That leaves a Kepler package for pitching or a right handed OF bat. I don't see him being traded for another OF lefthanded bat. That wouldn't make sense to me. We have some very nice prospects that could be added in a package deal but I would hold firm on the other four outfielders for now.
  12. I gues that makes the lottery ticket the headliner.
  13. How bout Kepler, Pagan, and a lottery ticket.
  14. LOL, may not be easy peasy, but should definately be the goal.
  15. We will play the same teams, the same number of times as every other team in the league. The good teams will "normally" win the majority of the games. So let's put together the best team possible and hope for the best. Should be interesting and fun from a fan perspective. I don't think it should make much difference in divisional races. Just be the best team!!!!
  16. Just NO!!! For Austin Martin? "HELL NO"!!!
  17. Like it or not, they should be kinda fun to watch.
  18. I don't hold much store in the HOF anymore, due to some of the players who are in that I don't believe should be, and also some who never even got a chance past the first year. Kaat and Oliva having to wait this long was a travesty IMHO. But in the words of another former Twins catcher "However", I know it is a huge deal to the players and if anybody deserves to get in, Mauer is among them. A shoo in.
  19. Lol, love the Soprano reference.
  20. I like your picks, would love the Adames trade depending on what we would have to give up in trade. In no circumstance would I want to give up Brooks Lee. He would be my only untouchable in this scenario. Also would not want to give up more than one of our top 10 prospects. I'm not sure I could get this deal done. Giving up Lewis would make me cringe, but I could do it. What kind of package would this take?
  21. Great article Seth. I think the Twins could rebound for this offseason with a C+ to B grade if they were to do a couple of things. Sign Andrus or Iglesias to put Farmer back to a very good UT position. Sign Eovaldi to bolster the rotation. Sign someone like maybe Duval to play either RF or LF. These signings should keep us in the budget. Not sure how to fix the 40 man in this scenario. Also, maybe a trade for a top back end reliever would help there. In any case, I am not giving up on the Twins just yet. Some might call me an eternall optimist. Others might call me an eternal fool. But I cant' help but love baseball, and I can't help but love my Twins. So keep up the good work, and we'll see you at the ballpark.
  22. Sorry. "NO Sale" !!!!!
  23. Flipping Donaldson may not be as easy as you think. I say stay away from both. There's got to be better deals out there. And if there isn't, then no deal would be better!
