Dean Kremer has earned a spot on this team's rotation. Bailey Ober has faded, along with his fastball.

Three good foundational rookies emerged late. Emma, Pep, and Cap.  Cap is of course Walter Jenkins, a mild-mannered youth who is discovering his true identity as Captain America. Somebody get that man a painted wok!

Another odd year of baseball in Minnesota. See if this organization can generate some excitement next spring.

It's funny to me how controversial this post is. The same people disliking this like participation trophies & are alright with mediocrity

Maybe things will change with the new CBA, but at this moment in time the best way for small market teams to compete is the draft, and having better odds for a better pick is more important than winning a meaningless game 162

TD, thanks again for providing a place for us to lick our wounds, vent our considerable frustrations, and also sing the praises of our favorite players.

At this time of year I'm always reminded of the words of Bart Giamatti, one of the greatest champions of the greatest game we know:

It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.

I wouldn't call it a hollow victory. We took two games from a team that was fighting for a playoff spot. Sure, it would have been better if WE were the ones in the playoff hunt. but I still enjoyed the Twins playing well, for the most part, this final week. This game DID mean something. They all do.

I remain a fan until teams that I totally dislike (see: Yankees and Dodgers) are playing. Right now, I'm rooting for Tampa Bay all the way!

There is very little difference between pick 7 and pick 11 in the MLB draft. One you are out of the top 3 it becomes a crapshoot.
