S Bart Verified Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I will be interested to see who they call up on September 1. Wallner and Orze would be the easiest since they are already on the 40 man roster. My hope is Emma, obviously. Unless they really want a reliever, it should be Wallner (a chance to finally prove himself after setting the HR record for the Saints) and Emma. With this addition of hitters, I do not feel that this gimmick of Shelty keeping Jackson is needed. The wild card track is over. It is time to vet players and positions for the future. mickster 1

I have a feeling they have moved on from Wallner at least in spirit. His numbers call for him to be called up long before this. I think he is the perfect candidate for a change of scenery. I still like him and think there is something there, but it is at a point where I don't think it will work out with the Twins. Saxophone Joe, Patzky and mickster 3

I only really care about the hitter they call up. I'm hoping it'll be Rodriguez. He needs MLB experience and he seems healthy. It seems silly to kick the can down the road on his callup. I suspect they view Gabby Gonzalez as a place holder until Martin or Buxton come off the IL. As others have said, they seem to have mentally moved on from Wallner. I will say, even if that's the case, there's an argument for trying to showcase him a little bit in September to generate a tiny bit of trade interest in the offseason. Jackson seems locked in to the roster the rest of the year. 1) They seem to view him as, in some way, valuable 2) With rosters expanding for everyone, the odds of him getting through waivers again seem lower than the last time. Say what you will about his usefulness in 2026, but having him in the organization at least gives the Twins options for 2027.

It is honestly a challenge to predict what they will do, and I have scratched my head trying to figure it out rationale at times this year. He could very well be taking the same path as Miranda.....we shall see. Although, I never thought that Ortiz would take the path he did when they traded him to the Red Sox. HarmonK03 1

Maybe it will be Tristan Gray, he might just be ready to turn the corner.

Good points....Jackson must be close to setting a team record for Twins team bench warming. The rationale seems to be using Jeffers as a pinch hitter when Caratini is catching. If something happens to Caratini after that point, Jackson will have to enter the game. It makes no sense. Interested that Jackson has a low overall batting average lifetime, but has batted about 330 in limited appearances. As others have pointed out, I believe that it is time to move on from Buxton as a full-time CF next year. He has been on the IL 3 times this year. With less than a month left in the season, why bring him back this year?
