Happy Independence Day everyone, and a happy 250 years to our great county! Nationwide we can freely enjoy our baseball games, a beverage of choice and possibly something delicious on the grill! How lucky we are, and it shouldn't be taken for granted. Go Twins!!

Buck is back! Kriedler slides into SS, Gray and Caratini stay cool. NY starter has all of three innings in the big, low 90s heater, slider, gave up a HR to the Rangers in his limited time so far.

We shall see!

So glad Buck is back! Now we can return Kreidler to his proper position!

It looks like the Yankees pitcher was a starter in the minor leagues so it may not be a bullpen game for them.  And the way we let new pitchers off the hook he could easily go six.

Hopefully he improves on his 7 k's over the last four games or we may see Culpepper sooner than later.

There have been some great moments where pitchers have hit a HR, but Rick Camp going yard is probably my second favorite of all time. with Bartolo Colon being at the top. I mean a light hitting pitcher that no one, even their own announcers, thought was possible happened in the 18th inning to tie the game. 

 

Baseball is the best.

His only other appearance this year has been a home game against Texas on May7th.  He was the bulk pitcher going 3 innings, but with an opener in front of him.  He threw 52 pitches with a 54% strike rate.  3 walks, 2 hits, 2 ER and only 1K.  I didn't look at his minor league numbers.  If the Twins are actually patient, they should get something to hit or draw walks.  Like you, I'm afraid he will go 5-6 innings and actually qualify for the win.

In the minor leagues he has been averaging right around 5 innings a game.  Hopefully we can knock him out early today.

Regressing to the mean is pretty likely for Kreidler. I hold my breath when he hits (not in a good way), but he can pick it at shortstop and is also a capable outfielder. Regardless, he's not a long-term answer at short unless he can sustain his hitting (very doubtful). I believe Culpepper would already be here if it weren't for the two consecutive injuries.

I agree if you look at his OPS over the last few weeks when he has gotten regular playing time it has been going steadily down.  I think he has shown he can be a quality utility player with spot playing time to help him be successful.
