Well, that was certainly a baseball game. Not a *good* game, mind you, but a game.

Best news, we won't have to see Finderbroke or Orze tonight.

Surely the twins can get a big enough lead against Lorenzen that Paredes will get his first major league win today, they haven't lost a game he's started but he's only been given enough innings to qualify once. Shelton's been letting him go longer into games as the appearances increase, so wonder if they might let him go for a 6th or 7th if he's solid today. Will definitely be a challenge though, he has been much less effective against left handed batters both in the majors and in St. Paul and the rockies are running 5/9 LHB not counting Castro as a switch hitter which would make it 6/9. But that could also just be the fact that he's faced twice as many left handed batters as right handed batters so far so the numbers will generally be bigger across the board

After Friday's game you can see why Colorado took 2 of 4 from the Dodgers and the Twins were swept by them.

You don't anticipate a close up of them on the bench between pitches?

They do throw back to back days and didn't throw many pitches last night.  So keep the expectations reasonable.

Why is Paredes still included in the bullpen usage chart?

Also, Raya isn’t shown.

raya hasn't properly debuted yet, once he actually debuts, he'll probably be added to the chart.

Does this team have any kind of plan.  They move Keaschall because of defense without a replacement ready to step in to start there.  Swapping with Clemens is no real plan.  But yet they continue to start Gray at SS, who may not be as terrible as Luke but he is not a major league SS.  When is the last time you saw an obstruction call like he had.  We have a replacement short term and long term for Gray, why is he even on the roster.  Why is Kreidler not in there until Culpepper is healthy.  And I am not a believer in Kreidler but for shot term he is our best option.

The moving of Luke really feels more punitive than anything else.  The Giants can get Arraez to passable defense at 2B but the Twins can't with Luke who is more athletic.  And he has not been the only culprit in playing bad defense.  Maybe stop playing spin the wheel with the defensive positions and work with guys and give them a chance.  There have been plenty of examples of players who get better at defense.  Keaschall has had barely a year's worth of games at 2B over his college, minor and major league career.

I (personally) think the long term plan is that they will have Culpepper at 2B and Marek at SS if he ends up panning out has a prospect because of how good his glove is, but you are right it doesn't seem like there is an actual plan to it.

As a famous scientist once said…

”Plan? Where we're going we don't need plans!”

That is very true, and I think Luke does deserve more of a fair shot at 2B than what he has gotten so far. I also wonder what the plan is with this logjam of AAA outfield depth, especially now that they have Luke there too

Working from the stretch  ??   expecting company ?

Might as well prepare for the inevitable. Paredes a little more pop in the four seamer tonight?

Exactly, we have six players who are outfielders who will probably be ready for a shot either this year or sometime next year.  Even if only two work out, will they get an opportunity or will we keep moving Luke around.  At least move him to a position of need.
