How about another win tonight? It would be nice for us Twins fans to have a little fun two days in a row!

June 15th Twins history;

  • June 15, 2008: Pitcher Scott Baker became the first pitcher in team history to record four strikeouts in a single inning against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
Go Twins!!

Glad they’re putting Fedko in tonight - can’t wait to see what he brings to the Show!

Being Brooks Lee cant hit at Target Field  and is a good hitter on the road - ? this makes zero sense ,  wanna give him a rest day or 2   , why now when your trying to get as many R.H. bats as you can to start the game ,   could leave Royce at 1b and keep his mo-jo going instead of  L.H bat  -Kody deserves time also - i get it ,   over thinking it ?  I.D.K.  Good to see Fedko get a shot , Culpepper is not really hurt bad  be back in a few days,  Thats the move that needs to be made,  if ya can watch Skor-North Twins show today and Laugh at how bad the Twins  are at S.S.  - pleez hurry Mr. Culpepper !!!

I wonder if Paredes will be able to extend longer than 3 this time. Part of the reason his outing was cut short last time was the 1 hour+ rain delay that came right after he had already been warmed up, neither him or Framber had as sharp of stuff because of that but Shelton at least knew to pull him sooner than the Tigers pulled Framber. With no chance of a delay like that happening, wonder if he'll actually be able to handle hopefully 5 innings of work and maybe get his first big league win

He is only going to throw 60 to 65 pitches, they have stretched him at St. Paul.  He is on the stupid bulk pitching plan and they typically max at 4 innings.  This is why they won't list him as a starter until basically the day of the game.

They are trying awful hard to fit Clemens in the lineup every day.  He has been hitting so I get it, but I am not sure he should the priority on this roster.  That is more an indictment of the organization overall.  I don't really agree with moving Lewis around, let him get comfortable in the field and hopefully that translates to continued success at the plate.

And the team is 6-7 for the month thus far and seven games under .500 for the season.  So all this chart shows is production by player and it is not translating to meaningful results.  So let's start looking to see what we have going forward.  Clemens very well could be on the team next year but if we are moving towards being a contender that should be as a utility player playing a few days a week.  Not hitting 3rd every game.  So rather than move Lewis around who has more upside, move Clemens around, he has and can play 3B.  If Royce could lock down 1B, that would fill a huge hole in the organization.

Can't control roster construction, can only play the available options. Agreed that those two could probably switch positions, but that would weaken the defense at two positions. June's pitching stats may explain more than the offense stats.

The available options tonight would be to play Lee and sit Clemens.  I did not reference roster construction.

How many games had he played at 1B or CF this year.  If it's that big of a concern than I would put Lee in there.  It does not help the team to keep playing spin the wheel with the defensive alignment.  Make Gray and Clemens your utility players and keep everyone else at one position.

Lee is 1-12 @ Globe Life Stadium - .083/.083/.083 (.167 OPS) 2/0 K/BB.

Clemens 2-15 is not much better, however - .133/.235/.200 (.435 OPS) 3/2 K/BB

So, all things considered, Clemens success against LHP this season gives him the start tonight, but with Rocker and Leiter going the next two game (weird day off Wednesday because of the FIFA WC) should have Lee back in the line-up, with Clemens probably starting over Martin, but also Larnach over Fedko.

Since yesterday’s threats worked, we’re going to keep it up! So if the Twins don’t win today, I unfortunately will have to grease all of their car handles with salted butter. Why salted specifically? Because does anyone actually buy unsalted?
