Like everyone's said, this headline and premise is ridiculous.

Now, I was fully onboard for the "most important offseason" of franchise history declarations because the sale of the team was so monumentally important for the future of this organization.

Well, it went poorly, Twins fans are still left with the Pohlads, and there's honestly no reason to get excited about this current team. There are some individual players that are intriguing, and some that are actually exciting, but the team itself is an absolute mess.

I said last offseason that I refuse to spend a dollar on this team until the Pohalds sell the team and I repeat my pledge. I have only worn my Twins cap out of deep respect of the people of Minneapolis and greater Twin Cities as they showed remarkable resilience and courage as they sat under siege, not with any sort of pride in a flailing baseball squad.

Spoiled, rich, idiot losers have essentially ruined everything and the common folk can't do anything but look on in disgust as we're all forced to subsidize their failures.

Ready for what, a 70-92 season?  Oh boy!  Hard pass!  I'll save monies for other fun summertime things, which I actually have control over!😉😎

Considering last year caused a huge player sell off, the firing of a manager and ultimately the resignation of the POBO, I'd say last season was much more important. We won't see dramatic changes like that again any time soon.

We have no idea what offers were made.  However, we can be reasonably sure there would have been good offers made for Ryan, Lopez, and Buxton.  Tom Pohlad chose to focus solely on the short-term and in doing so lost the value @LastOnePicked is referencing.  They have already lost virtually all value for Lopez.   We will find out over the next 5 months if that lost value delivers a playoff team.

With far more teams retrenching payroll than adding it is not reasonable to think there were good offers for Twins players. The player the Athletic reported Boston offered at the deadline was the prospect Garcia. There is no wat to think that anyone was offering much of value for any of the players

Hopefully you can see the irony of whining and complaining about whining and complaining.

Yup, people whine and complain, pretty quick every body turns into whiners and complainers. Wow, what fun people to hang around

I think there was a good match with the Mets.  Williams was an ideal target.  He will probably make his debut this year and another middle IF prospect would be ideal.  The question is could we have also gotten a good pitching prospect.  IDK but you have to believe 2 years of Ryan would have been worth more to the Mets than 1 year of Peralta.  I like the idea Williams and Culpepper for SS / 2B and Keaschall in a Castro like role.  He could play every day between 1B/2B and OF.  Perhaps even backup CF.  Think about the athleticism of that team plus Jenkins and Rodriguez in the OF.  Lewis would be the slowest guy on the team.

None of us have any idea what those on the other end of the phone are offering. That includes reports by the Athletic of a mere offer of the Password from Boston. There are also reports of Tolle and Arias. I don't know who to believe.

Here's what I am reasonably sure about. Any actual trade that has been made and the players involved.

By comparison of what has transpired. There had to be decent interest in Ryan.

Sometimes teams playing with nothing to lose actually do well. Low expectations and nothing to lose can create a loose clubhouse atmosphere. Could be interesting to watch. Maybe.....

Peralta and Ryan each have elevated there game in a non linear fashion.. Peralta finished last year at a higher level than Ryan. The Mets are looking at only this year. There is no guarantee for 2027, Money has not been a limiting factor for the Mets

I have been a Twins fan for over 50 years, and if I was going to go into a tiz every time a Twins season looked bad at the beginning, I'd gave dued if a heart attack years ago. Let them play the games. I mean, look aymt 1987 and 1991. Who'da thunk it. GO TWINS!!

Baseball is a great game and we are guaranteed 162 of them each season. It’s the games that matter. No matter what happens there is always going to be another game to watch.

I get and agree with this. I pay too much money to watch the Twins but have always done and always will regardless of record. And there are varying degrees of this. I can enjoy a game, if well played, that the Twins lose. I will admit to a four letter word or two when they play sloppy baseball regardless of the outcome
