Lost in all of this is I think the Twins got a guy on base in almost every conceivable way in the second. There was a hit batter, a walk, a single, a double, a triple, and a homer. Other than a strikeout/passed ball, not sure there was any other way left to get a guy on.

There are a few more - reach on error, fielder's choice, catcher's interference (the tough one to get)

https://sabr.org/journal/article/was-there-a-seven-way-game-seven-ways-of-reaching-first-base/

If Buxton hadn't put up a cycle himself the story would have been the team cycle in the 2nd inning.

THIS is the Byron Buxton Twins fans have been imagining and waiting on.  Buck is the kind of player that more fans will show up just to see the guy play, regardless of the standings or playoff chances.  My fingers are crossed that Byron will take a Paul Molitor career track and find himself able to stay healthier as he approaches his 30's as opposed to his 20's.  If Molitor can do it, Buxton surely can.

The Twins have some momentum going into the All Star break.  Here's hoping they can stay on a roll all the way to the trade deadline.  I still think Castro, Bader, Paddack and Coulombe need to traded.  Keaschall, Lopez, Ober...ALL of these guys, along with a resurgent Royce Lewis could keep the Twins in the Wild Card race.  If the new ownership and FO next season feel the Twins really need Castro and/or Bader, they can re-sign them.  But it's time to cash those chips in for the best return possible.

I never thought we'd see the day that he got this healthy.  I guess easing into his years of "old man strength", was what Byron's body needed to play every day.

This guy is one of the best in baseball, happy for him he's finally getting to live it out for our entertainment.

The unofficial first half ends today. Health is looking up with the three starting pitchers and Keaschall progressing and Lewis appearing to be running better.

Three guys—Lewis, Correa and Wallner—need to step up. Lewis hasn’t recovered from a dreadful start and Correa and Wallner have been worse than their mediocre numbers. The Moose has ten homers and 16 RBI. How is that even possible? Over a full season that would project to 30 homers and 48 RBI. Suffice to say he hasn’t performed in key spots. Correa has been flat out bad in the biggest situations as well.

Ty France has faded after a nice start. It looks like a platoon of France and ………Kody Clemens is and should be in play for now. Clemens has been a far more impactful bat than anyone has a right to expect.

Great game Byron!!  Nice win Twins against a very bad team.  Let's go for the sweep on Sunday.  I hope Rocco never forgets there are fans in the stands.  Im a little concerned what the lineup may look like today.  When possible rest your players during road games not at home where people pay good money to watch their star players.  Go Twins!

Pretty sure NOBODY gets rested with 4 “off days” to follow today’s game - right? Keller on the mound (RH) for Pirates so our best LH hitting line-up should be out there. 5 Top relievers all available for an inning as well! Good luck to the Club!

I don’t know if C-4 will be in the lineup, but otherwise there’s no reason to rest anyone.

First of all, just binged The Wire in past couple weeks - had never seen. Couldn’t figure out how I recognized one of main character’s names?

Anyway, I’m not happy with CC to date but he’s hitting in the .265 range (steady ascent for 8 weeks) and I gotta think he’ll continue to improve & hit into fewer DP’s in key situations!

Keaschall will be all gravy after displacing the essentially non-contributor, Kiersey. Can’t get healthy soon enough - I think he’ll be an injection of Energy to the bench!

Wallner & Lewis are the Keys!! They are supposed to be the “middle of the line-up punch” and they have been, generally, way underperforming! If they play to expectations - not perfect - but to expectations, the Team will thrive. When those two are hitting, the Line-up gets very loooong. Fingers crossed for those two!

I think it would be prudent to sit Correa so he has a long break to properly heal.

I'd just DFA France at this point. Clemens and Keaschell at first.

Adam’s gave up 5 runs in 4 innings his first time out……run(s) every inning ……his stuff didn’t look like MLB stuff to me. Saturday, honestly, he was probably more relaxed and he was facing a line-up in the midst of losing its 8th game in a row……not exactly the ‘27 Yanks! He needs another outing to tip the scales one way or the other. “Stuff” doesn’t vault forward in a week or two so, I personally, do not have high hopes.

So far in the two games Adams has pitched, he looked like he was an average AAA pitcher, considering his second major league game was against a AAA team (the Pirates).

ryan went 5 innings 5 hits 1 run did you criticize the line up or was that just for the rookie and swr not off to a great start or just want to talk bs about a young kid in his 2nd game

Ryan, Travis Adams has pitched in 2 games for the Twins. He has pitched 8 innings, allowed 11 hits, 1 walk, 6 earned runs, resulting in an ERA of 6.75 and a WHIP of 1.50. And that is not BS. It is a fact.

Ryan, I'm sorry I upset you. I understand your points. It's all OK. Let's be friends. We live 30 miles apart in North Carolina. By the way, I had no high school glory days. I was a terrible pitcher for Statesville High School. LOL. I hope Adams does well in his career.
