Western SD Fan Verified Member Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 One piece of good news is that the Twins open up the 2nd half in Colorado so Buxton will get to ease into the post All Star Break swing. Ottomatic1990 1

Is this what the Twins can expect for the next 4 years? There are certainly more reasons than not to be very optimistic about Buxton's ability to stay on the field going forward. His knee surgery successfully eliminated his most frustrating injury risk, his consummate professionalism and dedication have helped him develop a much keener sense of when an explosive/wall-crashing effort is warranted, eliminating another injury risk that often plagued him early in his career. And his conditioning has remained as elite as any Twins CF legend I've ever seen (which is saying a lot - Torii maintained exceptional conditioning throughout his career too). Picks up his first win, manages the game through 4 innings of 1 ER ball. It didn't look pretty at times, but he gave us what we needed, and the offense came through to make sure we didn't need to burn through our high leverage bullpen guys. The fact that he still has the second highest sprint speed at age 31 says a lot about his generational athleticism. Patzky 1
