Andrew Bryz-Gornia Verified Member Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 "Lewis is upset with being moved to 2nd base." As far as I'm concerned, two points had to be (and perhaps were) made to him. 1 ) The Twins need to get more bats in the lineup. 2) If he has a problem with the position switch, he shouldn't have made so many throwing errors at 3rd. Also, don't worry what Boras thinks. If Lewis keeps hitting, he'll get paid regardless of if he's a 2nd baseman or 3rd baseman. Fatbat 1

The one I visit has him +4 RField in 32 games with positive defensive runs saved at 2B, SS and 3B. Yep, mid 900 fielding percentage , if one sets standards low that is OK.
The Mad King Verified Member Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 My 2 cents - scrap the lefty/righty platoon crap and put the best defense on the field. We've certainly seen the consequences of not doing that the past couple weeks, if not all season. If that means Austin Martin in CF so be it.
Rufus Verified Member Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Anybody watching the game tonight? Well there's your answer why he shouldn't be playing 3rd base. NotAboutWinning 1

minman1982 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 What happens to Kepler after this year and who is going to replace him? Kepler is in the final year of his deal and I don't see the Twins resigning him at $10M/year. Any added positional flexibility will help going forward.

jkcarew Verified Member Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Because the team needs him to play 2nd base? I know…so yesterday…the game has evolved past the silly notion of the team’s needs coming before the player’s. Basically, the club is asking him to leave as soon as he hits free agency, right?

Whitey333 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Having up to four utility players is way too many. I'm a believer in having players playing one regular position regularly. This constant shuffling of players in the lineup and on the field is not helpful. Yes I know they have injuries. They radio announcers remind us of it everything a bad play is made or the team loses. Atteberry must be getting bonus money every time he brags up Buxton, Correa, and Rocco. USAFChief, Hosken Bombo Disco and RpR 3

You could get an error on a throw after a diving stop, for example, if it resulted in extra bases. But players no longer are charged errors on "hard" plays. "Trying and failing at a hard play" is no longer penalized. That's not me saying that, that's MLB. RpR 1
Fatbat Verified Member Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 We need to score more runs and not worry about where guys play in the field.
