JHelley4 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 The Minnesota Twins injuries have been at awful times this year. Sure every team deals with injuries, it's baseball. But we are in the dog days right now and Joe Ryan, Byron Buxton, and Carlos Correa are nowhere to be found. Correa was put on the 10-day IL on July 21, which was 43 days ago. 11 days ago Buxton was eligible to start a rehab stint in St. Paul but apparently "He wasn't ready." The fans deserve way better communication on these injuries because if they are out until October I am done watching this team. Shaitan and NotAboutWinning 2

I’m sure everyone is hoping Correa will be back. Buxton is close, supposedly. Ryan is out for the season, that has already been reported. No one can give an exact return date for any injury. We fans want more details but we aren’t owed exact details on anyone’s personal health. ashbury, C-Gangster and Shaitan 3

Road trip Verified Member Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Buxton was reported to be running at full speed yesterday during pregame warmups. He is in the lineup for St Paul today, so his rehab is starting. If all goes well I suppose he may join the team in KC in a few days. Tiny chance he jumps a plane to Tampa to catch the end of this series, but that seems really unlikely and would probably mean that somebody on the current roster got hurt and needs to be replaced. Ryan was moved to the 60 day IL a couple of weeks ago. He's done for the year, or at least the regular season. So two down, one to go. Correa....a time-line is frankly impossible with a chronic condition like plantar fasciitis. I've fought it off and on for years, and it sucks. There is a chance he will play next week. There is a chance he will never be an effective player again. The most likely outcome is somewhere in between. Doctor Wu, Richie the Rally Goat and Craig Arko 3
jaimedude Verified Member Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Hopefully they can figure out the cleats issue for Cortea. And pain management. Wouldnt doubt if some form of rest or surgery may be needed. Twins could really use his play at short stop and in the line-up. Never complained about the money C4 makes, he has been worth every penny Twins are paying him. He brings a presence and a chance to win a championship even when we see Twins falter in other areas.

I had a boss who once stopped me in my tracks when I was trying to get information on behalf of a customer: "what would they do with the information if they had it?" Turned out it was just curiosity and I was therefore stuck for an answer, and I never forgot the lesson. No one can give an exact return date. And what would we do with that date if we knew it, anyway? Squirrel and Richie the Rally Goat 2

I guess I’d say don’t watch but follow the news and when someone returns then watch again. <shrug> Mike Sixel, Hosken Bombo Disco, ashbury and 1 other 3 1

I think this is not as hypothetical as you are making it 🙂 One answer to this, from a similar thread last year, was, “to plan which night to drive down to the cities and take our kid to a game that we know Buxton will be in the lineup.” Richie the Rally Goat, ashbury, Doctor Wu and 1 other 4

I think if the Twins could assure fans that Correa and Buxton were in the lineup on a given day or series, ticket sales would no doubt increase as a result.
