Young. Strong. Has to get stretched out sometime. Steady progression. Ozuna was one to be careful with, too. It's Showtime. Baby players in the minors. Become a MLB player in the Show. Or not. One more batter...... we will never know......

That last part hit deep man

So, if Mike Tonkin has a baby son and he pees on the floor, does that make it lake mini tonkin?

Booooooo! Boo that man.

I can’t believe Michael Tonkin is pitching in the 8th inning in a game that matters on August 28. State of affairs

I’m here because misery loves company.

One positive thing about being a life long Twins fan is we never have to work hard to find negative things to complain about.

This team looks out classed anytime they play a playoff bound team to the point they are starting to convince me they are not playoff bound.

Well the record for the year against teams above.500 would suggest so

And if he buys him a Volkswagen for his 16th birthday, is that the Golf of Tonkin?

Tell me again who he is, and why he’s here

Duran postgame quote from last night:

“I’m a pitcher, and sometimes you can have a day like that. It’s not like every day you throw good, you know? Mariano Rivera is one of the best closers in the game. He had one bad year. Why can’t I have one?”

Comes off terribly. Just about the opposite of what you should say.

This team is it's manager. No fight.

Where’s that Mark Hamburger guy the twins used to have pitch in the minors? Should see what he’s up to

Wow, comparing yourself to Mariano Rivera at this stage of his career is obnoxiously arrogant.

Absolutely!!! Player’s manager because he doesn’t chew butts that need to be chewed! But this generation of players don’t respond to that…… and this is what you get. Players take two weeks off for a sore knee….

They don't even stretch them out in the minors.

I mean I'm all for it. But then train them to do it. Don't ask them to do what they've never asked before, NOW

Mathews is even a worse case. He hasn't thrown 90 pitches in a game in his entire professional career.

How do they expect him to do it in the big leagues?

Exactly. But these are professional baseball players. Kershaw was coming back from an injury. Tender. Old. Brittle. And he hadn't pitched as many innings is his rehab. And he stretched out more in the Show. Sure, a vet. He has stretched out before. But more innings/pitches is a progression,

I generally might agree with you, but in this case, this is the time to get at least one more batter. Lots of pitchers have a rough battling inning, and can find it the next, and late in his outing. It really doesn't make a lot of sense to me, to think that a young person can't pitch a few more pitches like the old guys. Steady progression, no matter when it is. It is still the same game and mound.

Plenty of disappointment with the bullpen but the bats are pretty putrid when it counts. Kansas City has some problems with their outfield, although it is getting better, but their entire infield and catching is better and their outfielders catch everything. Maybe the Twins are outplaying their talent for the season.

Oh well, great job by Festa tonight.

Giving him the 6th was ALREADY progression. Quite a bit.

We're trying to win baseball games.

Think of the honor for such a journeyman to be a part, however brief, of the Best Bullpen in Baseball.

That should be on the jersey. too. For all the players in the pen. And one for Nick and all the articles .........

Is that Delmon Young in leftfield?

We are playing position players at every position that are not very good defensively right now. Except Santana. But hey.... they are versatile. Just the way the FO likes it.

Incredibly versatile, they can be very subpar at soooo many different positions!
