Seemed like Twins offense of earlier in the year. Just absolutly refused to change approach through out the game.

Also, Cards exposed Festa in the run game hard. And they cashed in every time.

Festa - Opponents are hitting .134 (9 for 67) in their first at-bats against the right-hander and .393 (24 for 61) in the second at-bats.

It's understandable when Festa & Matthews have nights like this. SWR has already passed his previous innings record. The rest of the rotation IMO could use a breather once in a while. The BP is limited. Paddack & Ryan are already gone. We are treading on very thin ice. Once the bleeding starts it'd be very hard to control. We need to bring in the 1st Aid (long relief/ spot starter) to take the pressure off the short relief & rotation before things get any further out of hand. We need to bring up Varland & Winder right away & extend Sands innings. Whenever we use these guys we always have positive results in these roles. Be creative in how to use them. We don't need Richards & Okert, get rid of them bring up those who can contribute.

Disappointed in the outcome last night obviously but it’s pretty incredible to me that we’re still in the thick of it considering how few times we’ve been able to have our core lineup intact for a game. I don’t know that Cleveland has had to patch together lineups this year like the Twins; sometimes that’s the difference. What’s the latest on when Buxton and Correa are back?

Only 17 games with Buck, Lewis, and Correa so far this year

It's good Jeffers is hitting. It's good to see that Martin has perfected his swinging bunt to score our only run. What I could see, SD &STL have been pitching Julien & Wallner inside part of the plate with plenty of FBs. Instead of painting the outside edge with off-speed pitches which AL pitchers do. Which gives them a hard time.

Looking forward to see Lopez/ Gray match up. Hoping for a favorable outcome. Go Twins. We are better than this.

Thanks for the tip!

FYI per Uzzo TV, "Under our cost cutting program we do not offer DVR option at the moment. We are working to make it available at additional cost."

Twins Designate Steven Okert, Select Scott Blewett

It's a start. For those longing for Varland and Winder, they were optioned on 8/15 and 8/14, respectively and have to stay in AAA for 15 days before being recalled unless there's an injury. Both are not available until next weekend.

Seems like Festa would be an ideal piggyback starter. Go 2 or 3 innings and bring in the real "starter."

Seems like some of the hitters are running out of steam, some are falling back to earth after getting hot this summer. Can't be surprised that this collection of pitchers who threw tonight gave up 6 runs. This team needed reinforcements. Obviously there's no replacing Buxton and Correa so it's hard to be too critical of the lineup struggling, but still.

Why is Farmer pinch-hitting for Jeffers in any situation? I'm fine with platooning pinch hitters but not the likes of Margot and Farmer!

Since when did Goldschmidt have a sub .700 OPS? And Arenado is having a career worst season at the plate, that's a lot of money between those two. Not really related to this game but feels like their dominance of the past 10+ years is over.

Farmer pinch hitting for anyone is strange, let alone Jeffers.

Rough game to watch, seems like any team that can do the fundamentals halfway right and run the bases just runs circles around the Twins. They essentially turn any single or walk into a double by easily taking 2nd at will. The org needs to fix this and learn to control the run game. They likely also need to add a pitch/tweak Festa's existing pitches in the off-season otherwise he could be in danger of heading to be a reliever. He just gets eaten alive the 2nd time through a lineup. Luckily, he doesn't have much experience so there is time to hopefully make adjustments.

Odd complaint.  Seemed like a no-brainer to me; Jeffers took a foul ball off his forearm, and was having trouble gripping the bat.

Sorry, I didn't realize that. I assumed it was a typical PH, else the injury would have been in the game's summary.
