It's a good lineup for getaway day. Santana gets a day off for the first time in weeks. Lee also gets a break.

 

So far so good against Chicago. Our NY success hasn't been so great but the Cubbies can certainly be had this week.

I looked at attendance trends in 2024 vs 2023 by MLB club. Through last night's games:

The Royals rank 1st with a per game attendance increase of 23.2%.

The White Sox rank 30th with a per game attendance decline of 18.9%.

The Twins rank 18th with a per game decline of 3.0%, though recent games are improving this metric. This change is roughly equal to that of the Brewers and Braves, and better than that of the Mariners, Astros, Cardinals and Mets. And the correlation between on-field success and changes in attendance is unsurprisingly obvious.

Mrs Chief has had me working all morning to unclog the toilet in the master bathroom. 

Took me a while, but I figured out the problem. I pulled out a wooden shoe.

Hey i love what SWR has done for this team, and the pitching staff,  but i wonder as we go on ? if they have some sort of plan for this kid,  as far as innings - rest- maybe skipping a turn or 2 , he goes on average 5 innings now , which is fine if we can get a couple other Relievers to piggy back with , Varland ? Sheriff if healthy ? or Festa   ?

I'm thinking Paddack can take a few starts here and there.. already have Festa. Varland seems bullpen bound in my eyes.

This season -- 7 caught stealings (4 at 2nd, 2 at 3rd, 1 at home), picked off twice, out 2 other times on the bases (once at 2nd, once at 3rd).
