They're not adding anything by getting someone back off the IL.

Those players are part of what got the team it's current record. They're accounted for.

Getting Correa back from the IL isn't anything at all like a trade.

Correa already exists as part of the Twins.

In Correa's case, sure.  Lewis has only played 24 games and Stewart has only pitched 14 innings.  Topa may or may not be a boost, but he has not played at all.  Of course, you know that 3 of the 4 have not contributed nearly as much as they could so why ignore the positive?

I agree with the OP in principle. But I'd have to add Miranda, and possibly remove Topa.

Topa is gravy for the pen if the knee holds up and he can give us an approximate  version of his 2023 self. But considering he hasn't pitched at all this season, as of yet, and Varland, and possibly Paddack, are available for the pen come the post season, and before, Topa isn't key to me. But he would be a nice add to have.

Based on what we've seen from him before, and how he's looked as of late, I'd say Lopez is already "back".

I appreciate adding a rotation arm to replace Paddack at this juncture, but unless it's Kikuchi or better, I believe I'd just give Festa, Varland,  maybe even Dobnak, a shot before trading for someone of lesser value/ability.

I do agree with adding to the pen if available. But again, I don't think the Twins really need to look at the RH side of things with what they have on hand. But Thielbar may simply be done. Okert is proving  to be no better than a second LH option. Funderburk has the best pure stuff, and may yet get it all figured out, but he's a rookie, and he's out at the moment. A LH arm isn't probably going to make or break the pen for the remainder of the year, or the post season, but a good one sure would help.

By this logic teams should trade all the guys they have if they don't win it all*.....adding these guys is 100x better than anything they can add at the deadline, given their restraints.

*slight exaggeration of your point.

IDK where you got this from. Are we a much better team when Lewis, Miranda, Correa & Steward come back? Absolutly, how can anyone not think otherwise? That's ludicrous. That wasn't what I said. Where do you get me asking to trade anyone from the team? We aren't adding Lewis, Miranda, Correa & Steward they've been always been on the 40 man, last season & this season, they are returning.

The idea of adding Lewis, Miranda, Correa, Steward & Topa is, we don't need to add anybody else.

Why do people think Lewis,Paddock and or Topa are key.Lewis has shown only one thing he will be on the IL.Paddock can't stay on the mound,so who thinks he can come out of the BP.And Topa who even knows what he looks like.He has pitched in months.

The team has hope Correa can make it back soon because Castro can't hold down SS.Watching him play there, you think he is Polanco with his side arm throws.

We also need Miranda back for Right hand bat and ability to play 1st and 3rd base.

I believe we read an article like this every year. It’s kind of silly. Do we think we are the only team with good players hurt that will come back around the deadline?

ok. I'm sure having CC the last 5 games would not have helped at all....not one bit.

A healthy Correa? Sure, but that's not the point.

The Twins were relying on more/better production from the above group sans Correa. There's real debate as to whether that was a great plan, but all 5 of the players listed had spot dedicated to them on the active roster.

Those 3 have lengthy injury histories at this point, so why is that being ignored?

No, but some of those other teams will add actual payroll this year.....

I hope they aren't counting on Topa for anything. I think he should be seen as a nice bonus if he finds himself this year, but you absolutely can't say "we don't need to add because Topa is coming back." He's 33 and has 1 good major league season. He's going to have spent the first 2/3 of the season on the IL. Expecting him to be a reliable division race/playoff arm is betting on a lot.

I hope he's good, and he very well may be, but you can't assume he will be at this point. If there's a chance to add a nice reliever at the deadline, you can't pass on it because of Topa.

Topa is a cipher.  Who knows what they have in him.

Id be really shocked if the TC do anything at the deadline.
