5. Steven Okert

6. Caleb Thielbar

If they're all let go after this game, would they get signed by another team? Twins potentially have 6 guys out of a 25 man roster that are just taking up space,

I get the frustration but I get Rocco’s pov also. The pen is overworked and they have 3 more games before a day off. Putting Jax into a game they’re losing with the bottom of the lineup due is unlikely going to get you a win. Every game for the most part has been close lately and Jax will be needed if they want to win games the next 3 days. 
 

the issues I have is letting Margot swing and having Thielbar take up a spot on the roster. Nobody will claim him if you DFA and who cares if they do.

If the Twins are smart they will follow league rules.  There are exceptions and maybe Varland's case is one, and they can do it. But ordinarily a pitcher must stay in the minors 15 days after being sent down. 

I'm unclear on the exact details of his being brought up for one game and then for another.  His mlb.com page says he was "optioned" again on June 12, and then again on June 17, after having come up for a game each time as a "27th" player.

Okert and Margot would be claimed. The rest would not due to contract.

the issue is if the twins dumb these guys and bring up replacements, who are the replacements for those replacements when they get injured or fail?

Between Baldelli giving a tied in the 8th game away with his relief choices, resting hot bats, and guys like Jeffers hitting worse than Wallner/Farmer/Margot/Santana at the beginning of the season.......... surely not playing to lose, but not really playing to win. Richardson and Ryan get screwed, but Lopez gives up another 5 in 4 and gets the A team. At least they won that won with the bats not disappearing. Oh.... that's right, they actually got to play that game.

This sucked-ruined whole with twins losing-when twins lose won’t watch baseball rest of day. Twins better comeback with a vengeance on road trip!!! Seriously no worse than 7-2. Need to win every series rest of season

I would love to see Varland in the pen where he belongs but the twins decided to do the opposite of last year when it came to depth. 
no depth was the play this year 

if Varland is moved to the pen the twins have one realistic option to replace a starter if they get injured and he’s likely on an innings limit
