And they brought up Boushley which makes some sense because they want a long reliever and Alcala is a short reliever.

There is an open spot on the 40 man roster. They don't really need to open a spot to add anyone since Topa is eligible for the 60 man IL.

I don't think Alcalá has been down long enough to be recalled without a disabling injury. It probably makes sense for Boushley to occupy a long-relief spot. I hope he gets a chance this time.

They're trying to get to July to trade Jackson?

And a couple others?

1. Who is trading for Jackson?

2. Who are the "couple others"?

3. Unless the Twins are out of contention,  I doubt they're trading away bullpen pieces. So are you predicting that?

Probably you already saw Jackson was simply designated for assignment. He'll probably wind up in Wichita..

Dang, gonna be hard to bring up a reliever named “blewett”!

Hell, he can let the rest of the pen wear his jersey any given night the way things are going.

The underlying numbers for Jackson aren’t bad. It wouldn’t surprise me if someone claims him.

Dylan Floro couldn’t work a clean inning for the Twins. He’s compiling good to great numbers for the Nats with little change in exit velo, GB/FB rate, strand rate etc. So sometimes the stuff doesn’t change, luck does.

0.40 ERA in 22 innings, wow. Wouldn't have guessed that. I see former Twin Derek Law is also there with the most innings pitched for them, though his WHIP is questionable.

The schedule turns more friendly after the Twins leave New York on June 6. The stretch from May 3 to June 6 includes only the three with Washington for relief in those 32 games and the Nationals have been pretty good too.. Thus far the Twins are 7-8 for this period. The Minnesota squad is not playing good baseball at the moment and people can justifiably point to the putrid offseason of missed opportunities or pile on about the lack of talent, but there are still months to go in the season where the players can make adjustments and correct current weaknesses. It isn't time to get down on the local nine.

I will be curious to see where the Twins are as they head to PNC Park in Pittsburgh for an early June series with the Pirates.

Unfortunately looking ahead to a "friendly" stretch in the schedule doesn't make you a better team. It just makes you "look" like a better team. My guess is, the Yankees, Orioles and Guardians look at the Twins as part of their "friendly" schedule.

Jackson may fit a team desperate for experience that has had injures. Who knows? His track record was “reasonable enough” for Twins to sign. He’s pitched for MN for 50 days……..his track record hasn’t gone away. He may turn things around and become a reasonable #7-#8 guy in somebody’s Pen. I think we have better options but it’s a big commitment to cut a guy loose - not saying it’s a bad idea - don’t think they’ll do it though.

The “couple others” are not specific to Pen pieces. Miranda - Santana - Larnach - Kirilloff - Prospects ………there’s a broad range of possibilities. Depends how desperate Twins are to move guys - also, depends upon what they expect back in trade………They might just take a couple hundred thousand dollars and trade Jackson on July 25th??

Assuming the “bullpen pieces” you are referring to don’t include Jackson?

I could see packaging Staumont & Jackson for a prospect if Topa is healthy and a couple other guys are more effective.

Henriquez - Alcala - Jensen - Headrick - Varland - Topa - Winder (probably missed a couple) are all additional potential Pen guys for last couple months that aren’t currently on 26-Man.
