Do Twins take a flyer on Noah Syndegard

I know he isn't the flame thrower he once was and sits more like 91 to 92 on fastball. Can they still make something work out of his slider or change up? Maybe he is just a name at this point. I know when the Twins tried to trade for him from the Mets the Mets were asking for Royce Lewis or that level of player in a trade. 

We obviously have 3 players in Gallo, Lupelow, and Floro that could be dumped. It's weird seeing a player you once tried to trade for fall on hard times and get DFA.

I think someone will sign him that is on the playoff fringe and try to get something out of him.

No. Sadly, Floro is better at this point in time.

Not interested. Varland is a better option at this point. 

Syndergaard's only chance to stay in the majors is to develop into a reliever and see if some of the velocity comes back. But that transition would need to happen in the offseason for it to be effective.

No. He is a shell of his former self, sadly for him. He will not help us through the next month and into the playoffs, should we make it.

Jaimedude, I am being 100% when I say this. I would be more optimistic if the Twins annoucned tomorrow that they signed you than Syndergaard.

Hes not just awful. Hes like 5 adjectives beyond that. Hes unpitchable

With LA

7.16 era with a FIP of 5.52

With CLE

5.40 era with a FIP of 7.35

For the season in 88 innings

6.5 ERA with 6.21 FIP

Having an era that high and having the fip be almost identical is astounding. Means hes just truly been bad, not unlucky.

He also pitched for two teams well known for developing pitching and turning around other teams failures.

I hope the Twins pass on this idea.  We need to learn not be dumpster divers.  We always seem to try and catch lightning in the bottle, only for it not to work out.  Hitch up you pants and think about quality players.
