This offense can be tough to watch for long stretches.

I imagine Cole is enjoying the view from the pitcher's mound, at least.

Miranda, at least, was. :)

Not a good tag by Julien. You gotta let the ball travel as close to the runner as possible, then sweep through it to the man. He caught it too early, then tried to turn and reach. No way your hand travels as fast as the catcher's throw.

If I remember correctly, the Twins' offense had success against Cole the last time they faced him.

Any minds being changed about Miranda's ability to handle the hot corner?

The Twins game announcers have said his fielding has improved from last year after he had help working on it.

Thank you Ump,

Yeah.  So much for my fear/theory that the umps might squeeze Lopez here and there, in response to Rocco yesterday wanting to be a stickler for the rules.

Still waiting for Twins announcers to offer their view on Julien's attempt on that stolen base (now that it's been pointed out to me here).  :)  I take most of the happy talk with a grain of salt, since that's what they are paid to do.  Glad to see the play by Miranda with my own eyes.

From looking at the pitching graph on ESPN, a pitcher can throw the ball in the same place six times and probably get 3 strikes and 3 balls.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I absolutely HATE that damn whistle noise they play at Yankee Stadium when an opposing player strikes out.

Nitpic, it wasn't a stolen base, it was a wild pitch.

And I think the throw was late no matter the tag.

I still wonder whether Jhony Brito was tipping his pitches the other day when the Twins jumped all over him in the first inning.  Their pitch recognition doesn't seem good against the starters in the other games.

I have a feeling you’re not going to enjoy today then

Wonder if that's why they do it. :)

Seems bush league.  Beneath the dignity of a storied franchise.  But the store that sponsors it must be paying good money.

Other than that, I think my take should be in contention for Post of the Year.

I have no idea how the umpires could've overturned that.

Kind of a waste of a challenge.
