ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Yankees batting .500 against Lopez so far today. Not Fun With Numbers.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Can’t believe Miranda got in front of that rocket off Cabrera’s bat. He’s got a family to think about

ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Any minds being changed about Miranda's ability to handle the hot corner?

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Not a good tag by Julien. You gotta let the ball travel as close to the runner as possible, then sweep through it to the man. He caught it too early, then tried to turn and reach. No way your hand travels as fast as the catcher's throw.
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 If I remember correctly, the Twins' offense had success against Cole the last time they faced him.

Still waiting for Twins announcers to offer their view on Julien's attempt on that stolen base (now that it's been pointed out to me here). I take most of the happy talk with a grain of salt, since that's what they are paid to do. Glad to see the play by Miranda with my own eyes.
RpR Verified Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 From looking at the pitching graph on ESPN, a pitcher can throw the ball in the same place six times and probably get 3 strikes and 3 balls.
CRF Verified Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I can't even begin to tell you how much I absolutely HATE that damn whistle noise they play at Yankee Stadium when an opposing player strikes out.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Lopez and Cole don’t need an extended strike zone to be effective… This ump needs to get it together.

And I think the throw was late no matter the tag.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I still wonder whether Jhony Brito was tipping his pitches the other day when the Twins jumped all over him in the first inning. Their pitch recognition doesn't seem good against the starters in the other games.

Wonder if that's why they do it. Seems bush league. Beneath the dignity of a storied franchise. But the store that sponsors it must be paying good money.

cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I have no idea how the umpires could've overturned that.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 The Twins seem to be playing defense both in the top half and bottom half of innings
