Seems like a weird request to me.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Tied. Gonna need more Chi Sux fielding.

It's time to accept it. As for this, maybe. Maybe not. They're certainly not getting anything from this "far better understanding." Pitchers pitch less, way less, yet get hurt more. Players play less, not more. Performances aren't better. What exactly is this better knowledge gaining?
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Typical.............Get a lead and give it right back. It's habitual, not a coincidence.

In a vacuum I would too, but I've seen enough injured players play that it typically seems to be a worse option than playing the backups.

cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 A lot of hard contact off Maeda today.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 That was a hanger from Maeda and it gets crushed.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Somebody wake Rocco up, he's missing pulling Maeda.

What exactly is this better knowledge gaining? Pitchers are throwing 6 MPH harder than they used to and spinning the ball with twice the movement they used to. You're going to lose more games if your starters are throwing no sliders and 88 MPH fastballs, than you will be limiting their innings. Can't go back to 1980's baseball unless you want to watch the Twins win 40 games a year.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I know this is so early on, in the season, but Rocco's not a big league manager. His two successful years were the result of fewer injuries and some career years. It's the manager who can weather the bad times, and manage how to get wins in tough situations. Rocco, IMO, doesn't come close.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Pretty sure the White Sox have a 1.000 BABIP so far.

Stolen bases? Innings pitched? ERA? Pitchers generally throw harder. There are more strikeouts. But I don't think they're playing better baseball. They're certainly playing less of it.

cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 If Castro can keep doing that, I'm happy.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Cease has excellent body control. He doesn't even show any sign of giggling as he mows through this Twins Double A line-up.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 This kind of lineup should be playing on one of the back fields in fort Myers.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I know Wallner's safe anyway, but that Should be obstruction on Anderson. And great baserunning, BTW. Don't run into a tag there.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 What's Wallner doing? Admiring his evading tactic or going to ...................., Heck I don't know. Wish it was more transparent.
