wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Series opener between the Pale Hose and the Twins!
TouchEmAllGuy Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 PTC: Willi Castro?? Jk, give me Miranda
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Going up against Cease with that lineup definitely has me expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I hope the hitters are patient, because they gotta get into that 30th ranked bullpen.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 No Gallo? Going with a short bench for days on end, and having to play a righty against Cease on top of that, is annoying.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Guess I’m glad to be missing this one …
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 Chicago posted their lineup. I've edited the OP.
CRF Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 If we can somehow beat Cease...it'll be a big plus. He can be very tough.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Boy, Maeda drew the short straw going up against potential Cy Young candidates in each league in his first two outings of the season

What's with all the fence-straddling when they purposefully put together a deep roster?
Wizard11 Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 This lineup is different than the one posted on MLB.com. The team page has Correa sitting again
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Day game after a day game, sounds grueling.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Donnie Barrels, Nick Gordon and Kyle Farmer in the heart of the batting order. Dylan Cease has to be shaking in his cleats.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 No Buxton, no Correa and no Gallo. Does stuff like this happen to other ball clubs?
cHawk Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Why is Willi Castro in the lineup again? He wasn't, isn't, and never will be a major league caliber hitter.

Where guys get injured? Yeah. I'm actually having back spasms as I type. It's hard enough to do that, I can't imagine trying to play baseball.
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I guess Joe Pohlad will be getting that gold shovel out of the toolshed for the season. It'll come in useful today digging that hole for his $59M.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Robert is the only scary bat in the Chicago lineup, so Maeda does have a shot to do match Cease, but this really does look like a lineup where the Twins only hope is to sneak out a 1-0 victory. That one run will probably need to be due to errors and walks though considering Cease has only given up three hits so far this year.

The Twins only have 3 of the 9 batters who would be starting, but for injuries. Larnach, Miranda and Vasquez. Ouch ! Maeda and 3 relief pitchers had better be sharp today.

Does Buxton really need a day off when just DHing? No Correa. I would not be happy I I had tickets to this game. Buxton is doing so well why take a good hitter out of the mix. Early in the season and at DH doesn't make sense to me. But what do I know.

Miranda and Vasquez were the only projected starters during spring training. But I mean, thankfully Larnach has been is, and will continue to start.
