A game like this last season would have been drug out to 3 hours 15 min at a minimum

Rangers/Phil's got done in a bit over 3 hours (2 outs in bottom of the 9th and was under 3 hrs).  11-7 w/20+ hits.  4+ hours last year...

Sure did. Now I have to watch it for the umpteenth time.

Good luck.  We're all counting on you.

Mrs Ash sure loves* it when I yell out "it's coming right at us" at the most inopportune times.

The coaches and manager have a right to a number they like too. But the thing is I don't think I've ever seen Baldelli wearing a numbered jersey in the dugout, at least not as the outermost layer. If you're not going to wear the jersey it shouldn't matter what number is on it.

Interesting that there were a few comments this morning on uniform numbers and I just now read an article on the subject that suggests that coaches will eventually, perhaps very soon, no longer have numbers.

The Athletic article is behind a paywall. https://theathletic.com/4360660/2023/03/30/yankees-uniform-numbers-mlb/

Well, I guess that’s practical to eliminate coaches’ numbers, but I am glad we can pay homage to retired number 10 in Target Field.

Within the comments after the article there was a fair argument that suggested that teams could honor their iconic members but the players currently playing could also wear any number. That makes a ton of sense. I think Paul Molitor likes the way #4 plays baseball. I think it would be pretty cool to see Emmanuel Rodriguez win 9 AL home run titles or a half dozen batting average titles wearing say ... #3 or #6 or #29 or #7 or lead the Twins to several World Series championships wearing #34.

Maybe; I’ll muse on that.  Interesting comment from someone called tony&rodney.
