Game Thread Introductions-2022

2022 has gotten off to an interesting start with the lockout and then for the Twins a frenzy of trades. The roster has a whole new look and just three weeks from Opening Day, it is a pretty good bet that the current 40-man roster doesn't contain all 26 players who will line up for the opener at Target Field.

We plan to do a game thread every day that a game is played (only one thread for a doubleheader) and as before plan to  utilize volunteers to introduce each game thread. We have several regulars on Twins Daily that have done introductions before and plan to do them again, but there is space for new talent to volunteer to do introductions. New voices and different perspectives are encouraged. It is an opportunity to show off your writing ability, your wit and baseball insight.

There aren't many rules about the introductions. They should be submitted at least an hour before first pitch, they should include the lineups for the game and there is a format for the title. I will post a simple Google Doc with the schedule about two weeks from Opening Day, covering the month of April. I will repeat the process for each month, 

If anyone would like to volunteer to do an introduction, please message me. Also contact me with any questions you might have. I will respond within 24 hours. Thanks in advance for helping out.

Okay. I have composed a simple Google Doc which covers the month of April for Twins Game Thread introductions. It is a week short of a whole month, so it is pretty close to filled for the coming month there may be more willing volunteers than dates available. That probably will change in the coming months.

Great! Send a PM to @stringer bell, as he organizes the schedule and he can give you the 'low down' and 'how tos'. I think the schedule is full for April (barring any cancellations from volunteers), but take a look at the Twins schedule and let stringer know what you'd like to do! We are always happy to fill out the schedule with new posters! Look forward to it!

Just two weeks until May! We have a new google doc with a schedule for game thread introductions for May. There are about 10 dates open and I would invite newbies to volunteer and show your stuff. Here is the link to the schedule for May.

Aaaand we now have a google doc for June Game Thread introductions! There are six dates left to fill and I would encourage first timers to give the introductions a try. There is also one date left in May (the 31st). It would be appreciated if a volunteer could be found for that date, as well. 

The schedule gets tougher in June. If the Twins are healthy, the month of June might really tell the tale for the season. The game threads should be well-attended and entertaining. Go Twins!

On to July. There is now a google doc with a schedule for July Game Thread Introductions. There are only 22 game dates in July because of the All-Star Game and frequent off-days. Currently, there are 8-9 games unassigned, so there are opportunities for other Twins Daily readers to try their hand doing an introduction. The more the merrier! Also, the more points of view represented, the better overall view of the game (from our computers!). Cheers!

The month of July is almost over. The Twins are still in first place and the game threads should be hopping in the coming month,. If anyone new would like to try their hand at doing a game thread introduction, you have a chance in August. There are 28 game days in the month and so far about 20 have been spoken for. You, yes you(!), can take your turn at the wheel and set the stage for another exciting and entertaining. game.
