Twins Finalize 2022 Coaching Staff

The Twins announced their 2022 coaching staff today, announcing the additions of Hank Conger as First Base/Catching coach and Luis Ramirez as Asst. Pitching Coach.  In addition, Tommy Watkins will shift to Third Base/Outfield coach and Tony Diaz will move to Asst. Bench/Infield Coach.

Assistant Bench Coach / Infield – Tony Diaz

Pitching Coach – Wes Johnson

Hitting Coach – David Popkins

Hitting Coach – Rudy Hernandez

First Base Coach / Catching – Hank Conger

Third Base Coach / Outfield – Tommy Watkins

Bullpen Coach – Pete Maki

Assistant Pitching Coach – Luis Ramirez

Quality Control Coach – Nate Dammann

I have no idea who these people are but I have already formed many opinions about them being hired as coaches.

Plucking Conger out of the KBO is very interesting!

Conger looks like a character. With Tortuga gone, I'm happy to see him come on board.

I already hate several of Watkins' "send/don't send"  decisions as 3rd base coach. I'll assign them to actual decisions as events unfold over the season.

This time they have a bench coach, so Baldelli will have some help this time around.

Also new hitting coach(es). So our offensive production might be something to watch.

Other than that, not much else of note.

I'm guessing one of the events will involve Trevor Larnach. BlackJack will be in the booth letting out a kidney-stone-passing groan.

Timmy Watson is already the best third-base coach in the majors, and we can expect him to do nothing but improve for the Twins with experience!
