Telecast mentioned the same thing...I think they challenge but run likely doesn't score...

Why not

Twins starting lineup has only two players with batting averages higher than .228.  Houston, we have a problem here.

Houston's problem is that they might lose a 4 game series to a cellar dweller!

If Arraez had enough PAs, he'd currently be in 6th place for the MLB batting title. If you're only counting AL teams, then it'd be 4th.

That would make the Twins a "stellar cellar dweller," big feller!

Okay, I'll take that Polanco HR...lol

Nice to actually get a run scored back instead of being the team that gives it back for a change.

Um ... but he was running anyway ... I think the run scores, but the other runner doesn't advance?

Oh I must have missed that part!

It's funny two plays that you'd want your players to naturally try and make/be aware of end up having better outcomes if they weren't attempted.

1) Sano throw to home

2) Maeda trying to field that GB

Sano with his foot on the bag knew better than the umpire the runner was safe (obviously), because he could feel when the runners foot hit the base

The Twins sure seem to fail on a lot double play chances

Even if Polanco's throw was spot on, do you think they'd have gotten him? (Probably, maybe?)

Although ... bad throw from Polanco, was glad Sano kept the runner from scoring, but then the runner scores on the next batter anyway

I remember back when I thought merely that Polanco didn't have a shortstop's arm, rather than not a major league arm at all.

Maeda is said not to be terribly confident in his use of English. But the video showed clearly that he has picked up at least one useful word.

Those were the days, weren't they?!?

Maybe we should try Sano at 2nd base ... he's got an arm

Add Polanco’s throw to second.

You mean back when infielders actually played in the infield

Yeah, but he was touching the bag when he made that particular lame-arm throw.
