Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Twins won’t win with this pitchingNone, not in the postseason
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 cant do it anymore, probably get suspendedWhat if Rocco kicked dirt at the ump from 6 feet away, while wearing a mask?
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I hope Im wrong but if we let this whole series slip away.....we can look at THIS game when we watch the playoffs
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I blame MNT1996. Yup it's me, Randy Dobnak.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Twins won’t win with this pitchingThe lack of off days in the early rounds also cannot be overlooked
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Not even going 5 IP should never be considered anything other than below averageSure, that’s fine. But again, the context is taking out a guy who is getting “lit up.” If he’s actually not allowing hard contact, it could support leaving him in. Especially if one is as pessimistic about the likely relievers as some folks around here!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Lit up?https://twitter.com/dohyoungpark/status/1306044774856753152?s=20 Another example of how stats don't win baseball games..... or stop runs scoring.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 What if Rocco kicked dirt at the ump from 6 feet away, while wearing a mask?just get tossed
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Let's string about 5 or 6 hits together this inning, please.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Where was the hustle for that foul ball? Unfortunately sir, hustling is no longer a requirement for being a major league ball player...ref. fangarphs and baseball prospecktusk 06/14/2013
blindeke Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 One team has something to prove. and after one year, the other one thinks they are all that....SUCKS I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you also thought Mauer was too laid back and wasn't trying very hard.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Dunning still in to start the 7th is unfathomable.

IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I'm reminded of the famous Jerry Coleman (WWII and Korean War pilot, btw) call: “Winfield goes back to the wall, he hits his head on the wall and it rolls off! It’s rolling all the way back to second base. This is a terrible thing for the Padres.” And “Rich Folkers is throwing up in the bullpen.” Along with, “He slides into second with a stand-up double.”
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 OK boys.... nothing a 5 run rally can't fix. And may as well make it 7, just to keep the pressure off the vaunted bellpen.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Sure, that’s fine. But again, the context is taking out a guy who is getting “lit up.” If he’s actually not allowing hard contact, it could support leaving him in. Especially if one is as pessimistic about the likely relievers as some folks around here! To go way out on a limb, us frustration level alone would warrant removing him in the 2nd inning! Managers of people should manage the people. Don't we have like 11 relievers?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Sano had about 4 pitches to hit that AB, and couldn't put a single one of them in play.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 This is pi$$ing me off to my wits end. Its a good thing the dog is outside...lol
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Sano had about 4 pitches to hit that AB, and couldn't put a single one of them in play. It’s clear that we have a very streaky club
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Has Blankenthorn(in my a$$) even seen 4 pitches yet?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Who’s pitching tomorrow? I see TBD. Please don’t say bullpen game
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I'd like to see Rocco have Buxton in the leadoff spot one of these games
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Who’s pitching tomorrow? I see TBD. Please don’t say bullpen gameSpeculation is Odorizzi.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 It’s clear that we have a very streaky clubIt’s clear that we have a very streaky clubwhat it looks like to me is one team is hungry, the other is still full of last year's dessert
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 This 5 innings or less per start strategy is taking its toll, even in a 60 game season. A good starting pitching staff is worth every penny if you want to win, especially in the playoffs
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 This guy behind the plate is horrifically bad...maybe worse than Angel was last night. But at same time, Twins hitters are watching a lot of good pitches go by and getting themselves in bad counts.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 and they ate their dessert FIRST
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Speculation is Odorizzi.I haven’t been up on all the news...he’s been gone for quite a while for what I thought was a bruise? I’m sure I’m wrong
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Speculation is Odorizzi. Ah yes. The Twins' 17 million dollar man. Been worth every penny
blindeke Verified Member Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I speculate that, given that haircut, Blankenhorn was a big Donaldson fan when he was younger.
