Sure, that’s fine. But again, the context is taking out a guy who is getting “lit up.” If he’s actually not allowing hard contact, it could support leaving him in. Especially if one is as pessimistic about the likely relievers as some folks around here!

To go way out on a limb, us frustration level alone would warrant removing him in the 2nd inning! Managers of people should manage the people. Don't we have like 11 relievers?

what it looks like to me is one team is hungry, the other is still full of last year's dessert

This 5 innings or less per start strategy is taking its toll, even in a 60 game season. A good starting pitching staff is worth every penny if you want to win, especially in the playoffs
