Why? He's been one of only two productive hitters this year. I don't have a problem with them throwing some sh*t against the wall and seeing what sticks.

Probably because he leads the league in strikeouts (52 k in 106 ab). Bold strategy to have that guy lead off

To win the games, someone is going to have to hit the ball that their guy throws at the plate out of the infield.

Pretty sure it still hasn't happened. All infield hits or squibbers through the gap.

Q: Seriously, what happened to the all-time-record power this team had last season? Does James Rowson have a deal with the devil or something?

Marwin's nearly down to .600 OPS. He's really hurt the lineup over the past few weeks. BBref has him as a sub replacement level player (-0.1 WAR).

He's also got one of the highest OBPs on the team. The sad fact is that Rocco doesn't have many viable options at the moment... Plus if Sano hits leadoff, it removes the possibility of a GIDP from at least one of his at bats.  :)

I know it's hard to look at the big picture here but it's great to see Pineda pitching so well. It's a good sign for the team if our bats ever learn to hit again.

Eh, I'd leave Pineda out there. Our best arms were used up yesterday and the offense is showing no signs of life, so might as well let him get out of his own mess.

I've been critical, so I want to give credit where due: that was a really nice plate appearance by Polanco. Not one good pitch to hit. After two strikes, he probably figured he would see no fastballs, and went down and got a single anyway. This is in contrast to Sano's strikeout one batter earlier.

Dick's have a rough series at the mic. Stated that the run was going to score, forgetting that there was one out and the DP would have erased it.

/ edit - he's saying now he thought no chance at the DP. That means forgetting who the batter-runner was. :)

Twins catch a break and get a run...Marwin is slow.

Like really slow.

He has the lowest sprint speed on the team at 24.3 FT/S.

For comparison, Sano runs 26.8 FT/S, 6th on the team

Gotta leave Pineda out there. Other than the first inning he has been good

Besides the bases loaded jam in the fifth, you mean? :)

One of the best things I've seen tonight is that Rosario looked like he was having fun when he got to first base and talked to the dugout. Their body language has looked defeated the last few days.
