Marwin's nearly down to .600 OPS. He's really hurt the lineup over the past few weeks. BBref has him as a sub replacement level player (-0.1 WAR).

Why to they feel the need to play MG everyday (as a sub for someone)?  He is better off the bench, and really isn't an everyday player.  Couple that with the Adrianza and Cave everyday opptys, and the Vargas and Avila occasional starts and our lineup is weakened substantially.

That's another way the Donaldson injury has been a killer.

Yet, they were still playing Marwin WAY too much last year too.  Its almost like that was placed in his contract - you will play almost everyday at multiple different positions.  He has NEVER been that good.  SMH.  We really need to flush the turds down and quit acting like they add value to preserve service time for our young prospects.

Probably the latter, but gosh... Could be argued either way.

 

They’ll only give the SB if he was running on the pitch. But he did get a great jump when it was in the dirt.

Ouch. If he has to come out, Kepler is the only guy left. Does that mean Rosario at 2B? 

Or Kepler to first and Sano to third.

True.

 

Though it did sound like he read it was in the dirt as it was thrown and was off at that point, and honestly, he probably woulda been out if he hadn't. So he should get friendly credit for good base running, even if the stat doesn't reflect a stolen base.

I like the use of the pinch hitters!  (though hard not to like things that work, as the reverse is also true... or do i mean converse?)

 

And i hope this jump starts 'em.
