USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 We have a Bane Sighting...and no it's not Eddie BaneTrue story...I was in attendance at the Met for Eddie Bane's MLB debut. 1973. July 4th, IIRC. Twins lost, IIRC.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Shut up, Dickbert. Its not bad luck.
jun Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Thorpe is not a major league pitcher.
jun Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Twins turned 4 DPs and yet gave up 5 earned runs...
rukavina Provisional Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Momma said there would be games like this.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Looks like the Tigers are using this game as situational batting practice. Specifically, men on second and third and nobody out.

You and 45,889 others. You should have gone more often. Looks like that was the best start of his career. One run on three hits and three walks over 7 innings, but the Royals scored four in the ninth off Twins legend Ray Corbin to win 5-4.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Author Posted August 29, 2020 Well, this has not been fun.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 And Miggy joins the top 50 in career hits, tying fellow Tiger Charlie Gehringer. Miggy's No. 24 will be alongside Gehringer's 2 on the wall at Comerica.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 As it stands right now, assuming the division winners get the top 3 seeds, the Twins would be the 5 and White Sox the 4 seed. So they would play the Sox in the first round
jun Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Anyone wants to see Thorpe in Twins uniform?
jun Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Both Vargas and Thorpe should be released.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Anyone wants to see Thorpe in Twins uniform?I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a Tiger uniform
twinbythebay Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 We already have plenty of guys hitting at or below .200I know you're being a bit facetious, but there's no way he won't be an upgrade over letting Adrianza play every day.

jun Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Thorpe tends to make sure Adrianza get to pitch in the game.

I think after the division best record Should be the case. Your way would give the Twins Seven, probably playing the Yankees first, lol

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 That was an embarrassing performance, folks

Your way would give the Twins Seven, probably playing the Yankees first, lolActually the Yankees aren't looking so hot right now, they're 4 games back and have lost 7 straight, so it would more likely be the Rays or the Indians... Although that doesn't take into account the universal constant that the Twins must be bounced by the Yankees in the first round.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Wisler is the game 2 starter? Yeesh
rdehring Verified Member Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 What a horse crap game. To be honest, the Twins are not a very good baseball team right now. They had better figure it out quickly, or this season will be over and they won't be playing October ball. Although Dobnak seemed to be behind 2-0 to every batter, the ump sure didn't help matters. Another example of why baseball needs robo umps. With that said, everything Detroit hit seemed to find an opening or bloop over the infield. Getting tired of seeing that happen nearly every time the Twins bring the infield in...which is happening too much IMO. Got a feeling Detroit is going to win this series as the Twins slide continues. Time for some of those vets in the Twins locker room to get their heads back into the game.
