So, how we feeling about robo ump ball/strike calls currently? I get keeping the human element, but I get unreasonably angry when the same pitch (especially off the plate) is called differently through the game.

I do, but the good part for their fans is that it will be over much quicker than a normal year

According to the MLB pitch tracker it looks like he just struck that guy out but they were called balls instead.  Not that the tracker is perfect either.  Still tight zone hopefully for both sides thten.

Right... but all the arguments FOR robo umps imply that perfection could be achieved and human judgement and error would be removed. I'm not anti-robo ump, but what's calibrating the strike zone between AB? That seems like a gigantic source of human error (or cheating).

I'd say the zone is relatively tight . . . except when it isn't.

L/R would be the same for everybody. For up/down, take measurements of everybody before the season, double check you have the right data associated with the right player profile, and have a guy for each team put in the batter's profile before each at bat, with someone from the league issuing a correction if both team's input doesn't match?

Also, with facial recognition technology, we can tell if the batter thinks the pitch is a ball or a strike.
