Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 C'mon Trevor ... gotta get this one!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 And Maeda pulled with only 83 pitches.....
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Ump calls a ball high and outside to Garver and to Arraez strikes, and the game is changed. Were they close? Yes. Were they strikes? Almost, but no. Does close make it a strike? No. Were they great takes by the batters? Absolutely. What is wrong in the picture? The umpire's guess. And so it goes.... and never ends.....He calls them the same for both sides, and I don’t believe it has changed the game one way or the other
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Do you wear glasses? If so, how does a gaiter do with fogging? I do ... it's not too bad ... when I'm riding the air flow seems to help with the fogging ... I'm going to try a trick someone told me about ... use medical tape, heh
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 He calls them the same for both sides, and I don’t believe it has changed the game one way or the other I Do. It does every game everyday. Every single game. And umpires NEVER call them the same. Ever. They will call the same pitch location different calls all game. Why? Because they are guessing. That is all they can do. Not their fault, I guess. But I am not in denial.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 does anyone know who's in John Gordon's rowLarry Hisle is next to Gordo. Not sure on the next guy, maybe Junior Ortiz?
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I Do. It does every game everyday. Every single game.so they have replay and still get the calls wrong, nothing run by humans is ever going to be perfect
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 so they have replay and still get the calls wrong, nothing run by humans is ever going to be perfect I totally agree. That is the whole point of the original comment. And yet..... there are better options.....but back to the game at hand..... and enjoying it.....

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I'm going to try a trick someone told me about ... use medical tape, hehIt definitely makes a difference; it helps to seal off the top of the mask so your breath can't fog the specs.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 With Cleveland lineup, it made sense to use May in the 7th, with Stashak in the 8th. Their top of the order is tough, not so much the bottom. I'd just as soon not see Rogers pitch in the 9th, but if they don't score in the 8th, I suppose it will be the closer.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 It definitely makes a difference; it helps to seal off the top of the mask so your breath can't fog the specs. I have fashion tape ... but it adheres to the skin a bit too well, which is okay for other parts of the body, but not on the face ... so ... I'm going to try this ... my masks are very ... well ... folded up bandanas and hair binders, I put a metal clip over the nose and that helps a lot, but I think the medical tape will be better

Rogers not as tough pitching 2 days in a row. But I hope he breaks through that envelope. Plus..... for me, always better to take care of today's game because there is no sure outcome that Rogers will be needed tomorrow. And he really hasn't been pitching much. 2 total innings.....
70charger Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Great job by the bullpen so far.

I'm going to try a trick someone told me about ... use medical tape, hehI have a mask that ties around the neck, and a metal bar for the nose. You mold the bar to your nose, and leave room to breathe down on the neck. If you are wearing glasses, you tuck the nose bar into the glasses, and you only breathe down.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Even with the walk.... very impressive outing by Stashak.
T_J Provisional Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Rodgers has only thrown about 20 pitchs so far this year including just 5 last night. I'm sure he'll be fine if called
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 3-1 Loons in the 69th minute!!
