Bert's Keys: 1. Stay back. 2. Stay tall. 3. Work out front.

Romero sometimes does not stay back, and sometimes he does not work out front. Thus the odd bouts of wildness. Still, the guy throws darn near as hard as Graterol, with not much more effort.

But does he have a downward plane?

Romero does have a downward plane. But if it meets that uppercut swing, and the guy does not miss it... ;-)

This "uppercut swing" you speak of . . . do you mean launch angle?

Nobody really pitched badly. Romero had a short bout of wildness. Alcala actually looked pretty good. It helped that Detroit's batters really just wanted to get it over with.

Reminds me of back in the day when we played in the toilet bowl game at a tournament and everyone swung at everything so we can go home.

Maybe this will turn into the old Trevor May argument but I still want him to ramp up and start again next year...

I think that's probably the best scenario.

I don't expect miracles this late in the season.

Well, other than the Twins going into NY and putting the hurt on the Yankees. :)

Can't leave for the Bahama's if the season is still going on

If I were Gardy, I'd carry a fishing pole and tackle box out on the field and argue the first pitch of the game to get ejected.

I would guess it's pretty rare to put up double digit runs in a game after clinching. Apparently our 27-30 year old non-prospects are still better than anything Detroit runs out there.

In looking at the Central, KC and the Sox have some really good young talent.

Detroit, they're on the outside looking in for the foreseeable future.

He could hold a tutorial on how to bait your hook as I'm pretty sure master baiting on the field would get him ejected.

A couple of them may still have something prove if they are on the bubble of making the post-season roster ... although I'm not sure who ... Wade or Cave? Will Astudillo make it? Things like that ... I think there are still some decisions being made.
