OK, so if you don't have TV, here's a synopsis. Sano calls time and starts to back out, not granted by ump. Sano jumps back into the box and drills a hard DP ball right at SS. Ball is hit so hard it sorta knocks Anderson over, dribbling out into shallow left field. Rosario digs for third, draws a throw, which hits him and dribbles to the catcher. 

 

Got that?

 

Lots of dribbling. Are you sure this is baseball?

I was minding my own business this evening, cooking dinner for the family, having a small cocktail or two and didn't have the Twins game on. Cleaned up the kitchen with my wife and snuck downstairs to turn on the game. Twins up 5-1 through 3 innings. Nice!  I'm going back up stairs now to drink more and turn the TV back on around 10:30 or so. I'm not going to be responsible for jinxing anything.  

 

I know you'll all miss my snappy conversation but I just don't want to risk it. Sorry.

Soooo. coming home from work today, I was doing, oh....maybe 25 MPH over the speed limit. Sure enough, I glance in the mirror and see flashing lights, maybe a block and a half back, pretty clearly coming after me. I thought, "y'know, he's almost two blocks behind, maybe if I speed UP, I can get home before he catches me."

 

Well, that's a really bad idea, amirght? So after a couple stupid seconds, I pulled over and waited. Up walks Mr Policeman, ticket book in hand. 

 

"Do you know why I pulled you over sir?" he asked.

 

"Yeah, I suppose. I was doing a little bit more than the speed limit."

 

"A little bit?" he asked. "More like 25, but I tell you what...I'm off work in 5 minutes, and if you can give me a good reason why I shouldn't ticket you, even after you SPED UP when I flashed my lights, I'll let you go. I don't really need the paperwork."

 

"Well, sir, to be honest, my wife just ran off with a cop a couple days ago."
 

"And?" he said, starting to jot on his ticket book.

 

"I though you were trying to return her."
